Do such old games of this type run smoothly these days?
I could forgive/like their ancient visuals as long as they don't run with like 10-20 fps or similar.
Although I'm not into sims at all, just for future reference and for other more arcadey games.
it's very smooth and nice. not sure about the fps, maybe 30. fraps doesn't say. it's not choppy or problematic in any way. I know what you mean about old games and fps, regardless of getting dosbox to output a really fast framerate you'll sometimes have the game running too fast. but at least with apache longbow this is not a problem.
I like how good dosbox is with getting joysticks to work properly. thought I had to maybe go into the dosbox remapper. but it mostly works perfect right from install. I could use some of the keyboards commands on the joystick though, so will probably remap a few things. but those are for all the extra buttons on the joysticks, the map screens and whatnot, the essentials are all there by default.
