Is there any way to have the bookmarks pinned to the left on the screen in Chrome the way they are in Internet Explorer?

I don't like the way Chrome puts the bookmarks on a bar on top.

I guess thats just not possible then.

Best browser? More like worst browser

Happy Birthday Chrome!

Began using it a bit after it was first released but it only became my main browser with 6, if I remember correctly. Haven't looked back since.

I think the point where Chrome surpassed the alternatives was somewhere around 4-6.

Yeah, as I said earlier in the thread, 6 is where it really came together. 4 introduced extensions, 5 added stable Mac and Linux versions, and 6 refreshed the UI into something much more mature.

When Instant/pre-loading got added as a configuration switch and extensions started to get mature. I can't remember if the 6 week dev cycle and the wonderful browser update management were in there from day one or showed up sometime after day one, but I think they were a huge thing for me as well.

6 week dev cycle started with version 7 I think. Auto-updater was there from day one, and thank God for that -- could you imagine having scores of people still stuck on the early versions of Chrome, like Firefox and IE? It'd be a nightmare, especially with the fast dev cycle.

Chrome is a great browser but I wish it and Firefox could somehow magically merge. It does some things so much better than Firefox but Firefox has heaps of things it still does so much better than Chrome.

<3 Chrome.

Only thing bothering me with it lately is that if two gifs are on my screen, it screeches to a halt.

I've notice this too. It was like this in earlier version but then it was fixed, and not it looks like the bug is back. Hoping they'll sort it soon.

Also I cant use Chrome at work because Firebug for Firefox is just too awesome for debugging websites..

I haven't used Firebug in a long time - is it better than WebKit's built in debug tools?

Been using it for 3 years now. Can't go back to FF now.
I downloaded the iOS version for my iPad and... Wow. Being able to share your favs with your PC is amazing.
Goodbye Safari.

I moved away from Firefox about 1 year ago. Can't say I really miss it. It was my jam for years, but it just seemed like it was progressively getting worse with every update.

This, a thousand times this. As a huge bookmark user, I just cant stand the way chrome handles it. makes me stick to FF, even though it often annoys the crap out of me.

I suppose that Google Chrome is a fine browser, as many of its users can say, but I'm still one die hard IE user. Don't ask why. I think I've never gotten why Chrome is fast as it's slower for me. Weird, huh?

To be honest, I've had a brief stint with Chrome back when IE9 was just a bunch of developer previews and IE8 wasn't quite cutting it. You could say that by the time IE9 final release is done, I have little reason to keep using Chrome... not with the lack of speed on real pages. I don't care about benchmarks - I care more about the sites that I do visit.

FireFox is the best despite its laggy performance at times.

Bookmarks and RSS feeds.

The only problems I have with Chrome are the fact that it has a nervous break down when a lot of gifs are on screen, and I find flash videos aren't as smooth.

I love chrome on my gnexus but I use the stock browser because of full screen support and quick controls. Seriously Google, get those features on chrome!

Chrome kept on crashing my MacBook Pro whenever I was watching a video on YouTube...

I don't know if they've fixed this problem but I've switched back to FF because of it.

Because it's useless for 99% of people and isn't worth supporting with developer time when there are a million other more important or cooler things to implement.

I'm sure I'd take them forever to put that back in.

Best browser ever. I have it on my PC, iPad, and phone and couldn't imagine going back to IE, FF, Safari, Opera or any other alternatives I used to use (Flock, Marathon, etc)

I remember when Chrome was revealed. I am a Mac user so I couldn't even play with it for the first 2 years. I had used Firefox for years and was used to making my own scripts and CSS to clean its interface up because it was constantly getting more and more cluttered. I would compress things into a single bar at one point including tabs and the location bar. As soon as Chrome was released to OS X I tried it and loved how clean it was. Never looked back. I keep Firefox around for porn since Chrome doesn't have an equivalent to "Download Helper" which is able to download pretty much any non-DRM protected video from any site. It's really the only reason I keep it around. Plus it keeps that out of my normal Chrome cache.

I love Chrome. I got a Cr-48 when Google did a survey. I switched to Chrome on iOS. I love being able to open my tabs complete with individual history and state from any of my devices and computers on any of my other devices or computers. I sometimes just open sites in new tabs on my phone throughout the day and just leave them there so I can access them later as a quicker way of bypassing Pocket.

Much as I like(d) Chrome, this is all I can associate it with since the latest version:
