It's SimleuqiR's picture.

Hey SimleuqiR, instead of infecting us all with e-AIDS, do us a favor and rehost any images you randomly get off of Bing using this extension.

It did, but I was wrong. :P

OP updated with sleeker headers, as well as the "Keynote" header changed to "Keynotes." :P

Also changed "Jellybean" to "Jelly Bean," seems the latter will be the official spelling.

I'm reinstalling the Android SDK, Eclipse (ugh), and Java (uuuuggggghhh) for the first time in like a year. Really want to crank out a great Holo app while I'm uh, in between employment.

Come on Googy, give me something to be excited about as a prospective Android developer tomorrow.

Play Store to sell magazines and TV episodes?

The source code of various Google web apps sometimes reveals upcoming features. I looked at the current source code of Google Play Store and look what I have found:

"This magazine issue is now available on your device."
"You have subscribed to this magazine. It is now available on your device."
"Your TV episode is now ready to watch."
"Your TV season is now ready to watch."

The code declares mg_enabled, t_enabled and movies_est_enabled to have value "n". If mg corresponds to magazines, t corresponds to TV episodes, what is movies_est? Can you guess? The source code also declares t_enabled_country, mg_enabled_country, hdw_enabled_country, movies_est_enabled_country, books_enabled_country, videos_enabled_country and music_enabled_country. Since I'm in the US, all these features are set to "j" (yes). What are they for you?

The source code also reveals a lot of minor upcoming features in the works:

app_editorial_reviews_enabled
hdw_browse_enabled
my_devices_page_enabled
sub_details_enabled
enable_plus_one_annotations_search
my_library_device_filter_enabled
device_thumbs_on_account_page_enabled
reviews_helpfulness_stats_enabled
reviews_author_badges_enabled
label_overview_reviews_enabled
developer_reply_enabled
minifeature_on_app_browse_pages_enabled
movies_dynamic_homepage
books_onebox_enabled
books_purchase_flow_cross_sell_enabled
movies_category_enabled

Sauce

Lets all get excited... only to be disappointed when it's US only :(

YouTube already has TV shows, kinda. But it'd be great if they could actually get like, real paid content on there.

Magazines I'm less interested in, isn't that the point of Google Currents?

Just read copernicus's new blogpost! It changed my very perception of reality in a good way.

Link?

Less chance of Amazon/Google venture. =(

LOL like that was ever going to happen.

Ars and Verge liveblogs added to the OP for the poor Googlebots who don't have cool jobs (or aren't jobless.) :(

If there are any other liveblog links out there toss 'em this way.

I assume this is for 'real TV' content.

As for magazines, I'm thinking its more along the lines of the sort of service Zinio offers, where you subscribe to magazines and they get delivered every week/month digitally (such as Time, The Economist, etc)

I think they mentioned during the even that they'd be having a beta testing program, and that's what Ars was alluding to, and not an actual relief from tyranny.

No it's full opt out. The only catch being we think it means you also opt out of carrier support since you aren't in their realm of updates. So it's basically like you can opt out, but then you'll basically be voiding your warranty. It's not a beta test thing though.

What OS you installing this on for those curious minds like me? :D

I'm 95% certain that Jellybean will be underwhelming in almost every way but it'll be nice to see what cool features Apple will invent/introduce in iOS8.

Should be great for YouTube to finally compete with Hulu.

Still there has been *some* real TV content on YouTube, most notably almost all of Funimation's anime, Modern Family, Late Late Show, classic stuff like the Brady Bunch, some other stuff...

They've clearly been gearing up the backend for a big launch for a while now, all we've had is a sort of slow unadvertised soft launch of TV shows.

WHOA. I didn't realize they had Funimation shows on YouTube for free. If they're available on mobile, I know what to do with my commute to school now.

EDIT - Looks like some of the episodes are available on mobile. Awesome!

So is the keynote in an hour and a bit where the tablet and Jelly Bean will be unveiled? I get that there will be two keynotes, but do we have any indication of which pertains to what?

Quick access to various settings via the notification menu, like in CM9:

Ah ok, well you can do it with an app on ICS now, for what it's worth.

Don't think so, I haven't seen any specific details.

Death of the dino media companies is coming.

I'd like the Sirius XM Radio thing, but I hate the shit out of the fact that I have to pay extra on top of what I pay to use it in extra places beyond my selected radios. I was pissed as fuck when they went to charging for online streaming even though I already pay those fuckers.

I have that app to complement my baked in custom ROM notification toggles.
Two things this app can't do
You can't long press wifi toggle and go into the wifi setting
You can't toggle the screen off, and a few other commend.
If you have a good custom ROM, these should be all baked in because its so essential.

MIUI have had these since beginning. It shouldn't take google so long to copy good ideas.
