That's pretty cool that it's made in America, but I wonder if people are going to care where it's made given that price.

Probably not a significant amount. Most people probably won't even notice unless they market it that way, which would be kind of awkward.

Suck IMO for Samsung just now releasing the GS3 with ICS after this JB announcement. Hell JB might be pushed to Nexus devices before the GS3 hits on Verizon in July. LoL

I think the main problem is that the device is not compelling at all. It's not doing anything that cool or revolutionary.

Matias declared a war on laggyness.

lol

Conference was kind of lame. Nexus Q and Glass are expensive stuff no one will use. G+ is not bad but they spent way too much time on it.

Why no new phones, 10 inch tablets, productivity apps, Google TV.

Hopefully Jelly Bean fixes the audio latency issue so we can get some decent audio creation apps.

It's a developers conference.

It's actually probably a good marketing idea by Google. This device may not sell well but they'll be able to say that they have a product made in the US whereas Apple doesn't.

"It appears to be rectangular with a screen and poised for pretty good market share. Apple lawsuit in 3...2..."

i laughed

Great keynote, I like that Siri clone/Google Now because when it comes to Search, no ones better than Google so I'm really looking forward to it

Other than the search engine and Android, what has Google done that really did wonders for them?

And no, not Youtube. They bought that.

I'm late as hell, but I can't believe gizmodo's nexus picture was real. That branding on the back is garish.

Seems like this has been their best keynote ever though. Cool to see the Q made in the USA, I'd pick one up once it gets hacked to support more than just google play content.

Chrome? Gmail? Maps? Google Docs/Apps?

They bought Android too, you know.

Google Maps' offline mode is SWEEEET:

You can adjust the size of the grid and it will estimate the amount of storage required. Seems the largest tile I'm able to create is just above 80MB.

I'm pretty impressed that I can download all the map data for the Greater Toronto Area for 30 megs.

I use Chrome and it's great. But isn't the browser marketspace still dominated by IE and Firefox?

No, Chrome has at times overtaken IE to be number 1.

You could also ask, other than the iPod, iPhone or iPad, what has Apple done that really did wonders for them?

All companies have some hits and some misses.

There's just one thing left for android to fix imo. It is the email app where you have to scroll around and cannot zoom out. It's not too big of a deal, but coming from my ipod, it's a bit of a downgrade and I'm sure they'll fix it one day. Other than that, I cannot wait for google now assistant and the butter smooth interface of jellybean! Love my nexus.

Don't think so.

Chrome is doing amazingly well.

Chrome, YT, search, Mail, Maps, Docs (kinda) and calendar (kinda) are all brilliant services.

Gotta say the Nexus 7 looks pretty irresistible at $199. People will say it's not an iPad competitor because the specs are lower, but I know I'll be buying on instead of an iPad and I'd bet I'm not alone.

Kinda hard to duct tape a WiiU to your head.

Why? I'd pay to see Reggie jump out of an airplane.

My daughter has been wanting a tablet. I was waiting for something affordable and more open than the Kindle Fire to be released. I know what she is getting for Christmas. Shame this didn't come out before her birthday.

With the butter stuff Google fixed the main complaint I had with Android. Puts it back in the game for me when I start looking for a phone in a year and a half, lol.

I may buy one to compliment my iPad.

Can you create multiple tiles?

Glad to see a lot of useful offline mode features paired with their wi-fi only tablets.

All companies have some hits and some misses.

Macbook Pro. Macbook Air. iOS in general. Hundreds of games that have become synonymous with mobile entertainment. And oh yeah, the smartphone revolution in general.
