OK...so as soon as I see that your info card has no "sharing via email only" I'm taking you out of the invite circle. To me that indicates you are "in".

that could mean whoever sent you the email took you out of that circle so you're not allowed to see that post anymore.

next time click on the red button that says "learn more about google+". that should take you directly to a sign-up page where your first and last name are displayed.

A friend of mine sent me an invite late last night, activated my account and now it asks me to log in, but it only redirects me back to the Google+ login page. Tried opening the invite in another browser and I just get the "Sorry, try again later". I've trying all day and so far I haven't had any luck.

Anyone experiencing the same?

yeah, it's tough to get in right now. all of google's servers are working in overdrive. even emails are taking forever.

wait a couple hours and try again. maybe a new invite would help too.

I wouldn't worry. As others have said, the google servers are probably bein stressed.

You have to click on the learn more link. Then surf around a bit. Then when I went back to the join area it gave me an option to join after entering in some info.

Google+ now reads: "Already invited? We've temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon."

I think it is. I got an invite, but I didnt even use the email I was invited with.

edit: To clarify, I signed up with a different email than the one I received the invite from.
Idk if that makes a difference.
