Yeah, the different regional stores have different promos. It's a little difficult to keep up with them all worldwide, which is why this thread focuses on just the American deals. I don't think I could manage an OP which included regional deals from every Google Play storefront. ;)

This is a dumb question, but can you get rid of the freebies on your account? I download almost all the music, but I certainly do not end up enjoying all of them. Since I stream it off my phone, instead of just downloading it, can I delete them. It's very possible I'm just an idiot and missed something completely obvious

Via the web: Google Play Store -> Music -> My Music -> Select Track -> Delete
Via the phone: Play Music -> My Music -> Select Track -> Delete

Or you could just thumb them all down to stop them from appearing in auto playlists.

Hmm I tried to cancel my 9.99 google play music fee for the youtube key however it won't let me resubscribe, guessing i gotta wait till my month expires.

Gravity has been showing up as a freebie for users of the Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S. To get Gravity you need to start the Play Movies app on your device (not the Play Store). It should show an option to add a free movie. If the option is not there, try clearing the stored data for the app and restarting it.

It doesn't seem limited to those two devices. In the gaming thread, kamorra mentioned that they got it with a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, and I just got it with my 2012 Nexus 7 (Running a LP custom ROM). As you said, the important thing is to start the Play Movies & TV app, instead of the Play Store, and accept the "This one's on us!" card with Gravity, if it's there.

This is great, thank you. I've looked a couple of times in the Play Store app and didn't get the offer. Launched the Movies & TV app and got it immediately.

Am on a Nexus 6, btw.

Edit: I guess I should have paid a little more attention to OP.

Updated the OP to reflect that users will get either Gravity (on select devices) or Shaun the Sheep (default choice if the device is not licensed for Gravity).

thanks for being awesome and noticing the free stuff and letting people know

turning more towards google play for my music needs these days, saw a streaming quality comparison recently that had google play ranking above spotify. maybe anecdotal, but I like what they are doing over there and the android app is sweet.

fucking itunes and its platform specific bullshit. if i buy an album or movie i expect it to work on just about all of my devices. apple needs to stop playing.
