Posting PMs without permission is not cool at all. Private messages are private for a reason. If senders wanted the world to know it, they would post it on a message board.

We have insiders INSIDE MICROSOFT SAYING THAT PEOPLE SHOULDNT CONSIDER BUYING THE THING. It frustrates me that people complain about the state of the industry and then willingly choke down shit like this. I loved my 360 for most of this gen. I'm not some sony warrior. Every thing we know about the xbone suggests its a fucking mess.

I want to play Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive. I would be buying one if it wasn't for everything thats come out in the past couple months but I canceled my preorder a few weeks ago. It was just too much. Every day there's something new. Penello/Greenberg/Nelson lying and misleading people in their PR, cboat/famousmortimer leaks, resolution troubles. The games don't matter. These people going "herpderp but the gamezzzzzz" are bad consumers and responsible for everything this forum complains about.

we have no idea he's inside ms and frankly I don't believe he'd be so ready to work against his own company's launch and tell people to avoid his own product thus selling the opposition if he was. someone close but not that close. hence key mistakes like downclocks.

there are those that believe in the idea that MS showed their true colors with the original reveal...that is what they want for the industry, and will continue to move in that direction...

and lets be honest...their reversals were in response to potential sales numbers....not simply people saying they didn't like it...

MS has also continued since then to be the company that has deceived (at best), and in some cases flat our LIED to us as consumers...

you dont want anything that PS+ offers because you cant seem to pause your console warrior mode and take a step back and realize what you're saying...there are games that were given to me by Sony for being a PS+ member that i would have never even thought to play but have increased my enjoyment of this generation...

as for the value arguement...what are you talking about? its ALWAYS a value argument lol...

I absolutely agree that Sony moving multiplayer behind a paywall is an anti-consumer move...the blow however is lessened (for me) because i was already a PS+ member, and see the value in that program WAY beyond multiplayer...

but totally Sony should be called on it...and they have been...unfortunately for MS they have made bonehead and bonehead move this generation

and i already pay for XBL as well so its really a "whatever"

The people who are defending Microsoft are fucking idiots. The faster everyone unites and calls MS out on their bulllshit the faster MS will turn things around and we will ALL benefit from a stronger competitor. I say the same thing to Nintendo fans but you get the same nonsense from those fans insisting there is nothing to worry about and everything is just dandy

Sony had the same intentions. DRM/blocking used games was very unpopular and MS were the ones that continued on that path until it was causing harm to potential sales. And if MS were successful with it, you better believe Sony would have jumped on. And that's my point. If Sony is for consumers and MS isn't. Then Sony would not implement anything that an anti-consumer company were doing with their device. Hello, pay to play online.

Console warrior mode? Damn. I guess my pre-ordered PS4 and BF4 was just my imagination. It's not value. I have had no need to buy PS+ on PS3. But if the online was locked into PS+, I would have had to. Sony knows this, so they threw it in to get mah monies. I guess those free games weren't good enough of a value, huh?

Boat's been around since the 360 launch if not before. He's just a believer in transparency, whereas most companies aren't. MS always has the option to delay the launch if they are having technical issues, if they won't and it seems likely, cboat has taken issue with that.

He's saying don't buy it because even though the games will be playable, the vast majority will have better performing counterparts on the PS4. Unless you're hard up for MS exclusives, his advice applies to the consumer.

First of all i am getting both consoles because I am not biased and love video games. But why does Gaf have so much hate towards our American company Microsoft and the Xbone? It will pump out some amazing titles just like the PS4.
 
Is there a definitive CBOAT list of reasons not to buy an xbone so far?

Not reasons why a PS4 is better but xbox being bad

I don't think he's having issues with the lack of a delay, but more with the general strategy of MS with the Xbox One.

It was obviously very unpopular. Jack Tretton came out a few months later to say he opposed blocking used games. I guess MS didn't care and continued on.

woahhhhh....you better be able to walk the walk if you're going to make claims like that...you have any legit evidence to back up the idea that Sony had similar DRM policies in play??

Sony is still a corporation...they need to make money...and the multiplayer paywall is a very tempting payday....they could have taken the route of MS and put all their media features behind the paywall...or party chat...or F2P games...but they didn't...

not to mention they are still giving free games away as well....

it IS value....there is a difference between a service being a value, and a necessity...

you dont HAVE to buy PS+ youre free to take your gaming to any other platform that you feel is more consumer friendly than Sony...like Nintendo, or the PC...

those free games (among other things) were a good enough value for A LOT of people to sign up for PS+ n the PS3...but of course online multiplayer is going to generate more income for Sony...

anti-consumer? yup...smart on Sony's part? also a yup...using your logic the simple fact that a company charges you for a product would be anti-consumer...

Kotaku were the first to break the codename Orbis, which is correct. So, their sources aren't good, but others are? CBOAT never said anything about PS4 other than being wrong about when PS4 releases.
