Man this year's E3 has really been meh so far. Hopefully next year we'll go back to the big on-stage shows and the bombastic shenanigans. This is all so meh lol.

I have a feeling that FF16 and FF7 Pt2 are going to be much better than anything shown at this conference.

I'm definitely going to pick up FF7 Intergrade for my PS5 (when I get one) at some point.
 
Worst conference I've seen in a long time.

Guardians looked really bland. Like those movie tie in games we used to get for Captain America, Thor, etc.

Babylon's Fall looked like Platinum went out of their way to identify everything people like about their previous games and then took all of that out.

And that Chaos game has decent looking combat but the art direction, graphics, writing and voice acting were all abysmal. It's like they took some rejected NPC designs, some stock Wii era dark fantasy assets, and then had some 10 years old kid write the dialog.

The FF Souls game is no Ni-Oh in either looks or gameplay, it looks pretty dated.
Guardians looks so-so at best.

The best thing they showed was the Babylon's Fall footage, that looks pretty amazing, but then that's Platinum Games for you.
This was a D at best for me, I hate Life is Strange, it's pure rubbish IMO.
 
Not sure how to feel about GotG. Didn't like it when they showed just the trailer but as the presentation went on I became more positive about it. I'll give it a go if they add it to gamepass or when it goes for $10, but not feeling it for full price. Not a Marvel fan tho, so that's not a selling point for me.
 
Square Enix needs to get back into making expensive Hollywood movies that nobody watches. They need to go bankrupt, and fuck off into being an exiled IP graveyard like Konami for a generation or two.

I think it's due to the deals that Sony has with Square involving FF7 and FF16. I wouldn't expect an update on those two games unless it's at a Sony conference.

I don't think it's illogical to assume that based on Sonys history with Square.
 
Thought there was actually something wrong with the stream quality when watching the Babylons Fall trailer. Is there some kind of Skyward Sword style painting filter on top of it?

Ff7 ps5 version looks absolutely insane. I picked it up Friday and gonna jump on it once I'm done with ratchet. So good. Squares showing today was bad though:(

Have to agree with you there. I'm pretty sure we will see an update on FF16 at a State of Play or something similar. I also wouldn't be surprised if FF7 PT2 gets revealed at a Sony conference either.
 
I really hate this era of comic book character designs in video games. Not that the comics are doing much better themselves but still.

Well i just got a warning for that post so you are not the only one. I'm not sure why everyone thinks i was talking about Microsoft in a square enix thread but if it's any consolation, i can assure you i wasn't. I have nothing to hide, i was pretty harsh on Microsoft in the grade Microsoft thread already. Besides, Ff16 and Forspoken aren't even ps5 exclusive, they are also on pc.

I guess my reputation preceeds me and if you think that way about me after all my 10k or so posts then i can say nothing to change your mind.

Mods, i will stay on the down low. Not looking to get banned.

It's coming to everything EXCEPT Switch so I figure the graphics must be decent.
 
Unimaginably terrible

It started off with a game I might have been interested in at some point taking up half the show. It is a game with a diverse group and you are stuck playing as only the most boring option to chase after the "your choices matter" bullshit that will inevitably bog down the game and not lead to anything mattering. GotG always has a great soundtrack and great music but here it just feels so forced. The combat looks okay I guess but I would much rather have the option to play as any of the Guardians.

The FF 1-6 stuff is just a brutal bag over the head. I almost thought it was going to be a troll where more consoles showed up beyond just steam and mobile but here we are. The glimmer of hope that they are waiting for Nintendo/Sony to do events to announce them there is very faint at this point.

The FF1 reimagining looks like a PS2 game. The characters all have a vastly different aesthetic. Like the dudebro syndicate gets sucked into the FF1 world while also being dumbed down considerably to only be able to talk about CHAOS. I'm just not feeling it.

Not really.
I mean Wii era was definitely hyperbole but a lot of aspects looked like they were somewhere between ps3 and Ps4.

Nioh isn't on switch either and considering it runs at 60fps on base Ps4 I imagine they could probably port it to Switch cutting back the visuals, resolution and halving the framerate.
