Everyone should check out Esperanza Spalding's old band, Noise for Pretend. They released an album back in '02 called "Happy You Near." It got some pretty heavy rotation out of me back in the day. Didn't even realize she was in the band until I saw her on TV a while back.
I wonder how much of this is going to happen in the next few days. It's like how this past year's album saw The Black Keys find mainstream success, and suddenly a new wave of people become their diehards and sport massive fan boners and brag about how they listen to their music.

My mom asked me this yesterday. My response to her was as follows: "Yeah, I bought Dad their first album for Christmas back in 2004 which he still listens to all the time. I also put one of their songs on my wedding CD in 2006, which you still listen to."
