You know there must be such a massive polygon count difference between standard and premium, they couldn't just be using PS2 meshes, it'd be a waste. The cars look way too rounded for that too

With the 500k monsters off the road its probably safe to say they have the budget for more polys at least. "Up-rez" can be a catch all phrase, but I'd be surprised if they aren't balancing polygon loads until gold. In the trailers some seem to look presentable and some look like console time machines.

edit- and that's my contribution to the refrain.. it'll look how it looks

Well my hope is Premium stuff is done and they are bring the rest up to a level of parity

They can start by fixing the engine noises. I don't want to hear a hair dryer on a standard Camaro if they've recorded great sounds for the Premium Camaro that they can reuse.

Is undisclosed feature has got to be weather looking at how Kaz answered that question and also track editor. The amount of features this game has it mindblowing, even more so is that people are already begging for DLC. :lol

Sony must be loving this, people getting the game with the mind set already for DLC.

Hopefully by Gamescon we get 2-3 more tracks and weather. I'm sure they're working on both since his answer on both wasn't definitive. Though if the only weather they put in the game is rain, that would mean we'd get mud on the Rally courses.

Read about 15 pages of this 40+ page thread...lots of discussion but not much info.

Was hoping for more info from E3.

Yeah I know it's always like this...won't know what is in and what isn't until we near launch.

But considering the amount of time we've waited so far a bit more info doesn't hurt.

Hey maybe the info is out there and I just don't know...have a few questions here:

-night mode for all tracks or just a few?
-the rally vids seen so far...why didn't they turn on high beams?
-any livery editor details?
-online lobby customization details?

I'm hyped for rally and I'm not. The night cycle is awesome. The track shown was uninteresting. GT never had very good Rally circuits to begin with and this reveal doesn't change that pattern. Track editor could save this and be the best feature ever in racing sims.

Made some realistic rally tracks with my cousin on ModNation Racers and they would make fantastic GT rally circuits.

I don't think its been confirmed yet. My hunch is all tracks we've seen so far are lit with the same real-time engine, if some were baked I'd expect more of a discernible difference. But could be wrong.
There was that one "city" track in the beginning of the E3 trailer that was at night, so the rally track "Toscana" isn't the only one with Night in the trailer. I'd be surprised if not most of the tracks didn't have night time.... Maybe except the NASCAR ones.

wasent weather already confirmed in the playstation magazine preview a while back

Speculation, but Kaz said they'd look into it (I'm guessing that means they've been working on it in some shape or form).

Eh in the video where the guy said "undisclosed" it seemed more like he was trying to be funny rather than his fav feature not yet having been revealed.

I am pretty sure all track will have it,they are making a pretty big deal out of the day and night racing. But with this game we cant assmued everything maybe we find out in August.

Kaz has said weather is complete, but he wasn't decided whether he was going to put it in yet

Which probably just meant he didn't want to confirm it then

Hmm, wonder what he meant by complete... Like the weather effects? Or the weather effects + how the weather would affect tracks, dirt, debris, driving, visuals, etc.

You are right. I noticed that an old GT:HD reveal showed off Eiger had nothing but ambient lighting applied to it and later versions had lighting and shadows. I suspected that they could have had a real time day/night cycle from that.

When playing Prologue I had the impression that all tracks were done the same way.

The thing is that the skyboxes would have to change too and that would take some resources and processing.

All tracks seem to be lit the same way so I don't expect any exclusions if they decide to do it for the majority of tracks. The only thing is whether or not we'll see fewer cars on the track because of this mode. I'd accept anything between 8-12.

BBQ Nur had 16 in one of the trailers (i think, too lazy to check right now). It'll probably be track to track.

Speaking of, I'd like to see save games in endurance mode. They can have Sebastian Vettel vo that you're a cheating pussy, I just want the option.

Has the number of tracks been confirmed?
No, it's still unknown exactly even by PD. A work in progress.

Official word is 20+ tracks with variations. But they notoriously underpromised and overdelivered on GT PSP's tracks. A PS3blog community manager recently claimed there are 40+ tracks with over 100 variations, upping the ante considerably.

How many did they promise for psp and how many did they deliver in the end?

More than 40 tracks with over 100 layouts (including all versions of Nurburgring – which nobody’s ever done before). That enough for you? :)

How many versions of the Nurburgring are there?

Edit:Nvm there are 3 of them, did we add them the track list?

How I'm going to love this game if this turns out to be true! Over 40 tracks that is... :D

Lol I hate this conflict of info, I hope the community manager is right in this case. They need to stop toying with my heart. Between USA-Slovenia and the multiple conflicting GT5 news sources I am going nuts.

When did PD allocate a CM?
Anyway, Kaz on a number of times has stated that all tracks from the previous game will make a return. I hope they had the time to follow through..

Saw that earlier. Unless its a racing seat or comes with a wheel I'm not touching that with an iron rod. And I'm sure several others would think along similar lines.
I've got a G25 so I'm not even in the market for Wheel so I'm out for the count I guess.

I was talking about the PS3Blog Community Manager.

The reason it's so pricey is because of this:
'Jusqu'au 21 juin', which means out on the 21st of June. Awesome, we get to play it 4 months earler than the Yanks..

With all the interviews there have been at E3, why has no one asked about the EU/JP release-date, all we know is, that it's gonna release on Nov. 2 in the US/Latin America??

It's November for them also. There's just in a set day yet. I guess the specific European date will be revealed at gamescom.

Speaking about Gamescom, is this THE event for total disclosure?
What are we/you expecting in terms of feature-sets,announcements?

I asked the same question in one of the old GT5 threads. I don't remember the answer exactly, but it was something like PD said it GT PSP would have 27 tracks and it ended up with 42. It was a big difference, not a handful.

Following a thread on GT Planet there are some good educated guesses. Spa, Monza, and Laguna Seca are all rumored to be included due to PD scouting them during the time of GT5's development. Also apparently one of the early GTHD or GT Vision trailers showed a shiny new looking El Capitan. I never played GT4, so I watched some youtube videos. It looks like a nice course and should be amazing in HD.

If those 3 race tracks are in the game, I think that should be it for real life race tracks. The rest should focus on fantasy stages, stuff that looks more like dangerous speeding on country back roads. Deep Forest with GT5's lighting would look great. They can recycle textures from the ring, and change the colors. Many of the old classic maps should be easier to recreate on PS3 than city maps that must look exactly like their real world location.

Here in the UK, I think marketing wise, there may be a problem in the week leading up to Nov 5 (Bonfire night/ guy fawkes night), which falls on that Friday. People will most likely spend their money on fireworks that week.

edit:@Deathdealer The thing about tracks that gets me is that they are promising 20+ tracks now. And I'm sure there will be a few more, but I don't think it'll be as dramatic as 40+. Tracks on psp must be a whole lot easier to do then GT5 tracks.

Kaz said that they're going to reveal everything in the game at gamescom. Which means the hype will kick into overdrive after that event.

As far as features go, the main tow rumored features are weather and a track editor. Kaz got a lot of people thinking of weather when he said "Maybe" when someone asked him about it in that Twitter chat. So it looks like that one is going to happen. Also Chris (one of the US producers) said that his favorite new feature is still undisclosed.

They promoise 950 cars we got over 1000 now, thins will keep changing until release.

GOW 3 and UC both had developer documentaries and I hope GT have them. It'd be amazing if they were planning to have 50 tracks or something.

How much of that will be development though? Couple months touching everything up and then they need time to press all the discs.
I dont know how they operate so I couldn't tell ya. I think we get the final details on everything at Gamescon, lets just hope for the best!
