Gran Turismo Sport Previews

Good I had confirmation by the team of gamersyde that Sony simply prohibited to film in off screen or capture live feed .. so that's why .. :/

This is shaping up to be something special, a shame it will be shunned by many due to lack of single player.

A well done Online component could have legs for years with good DLC.

The lighting blows my mind as well...

Have they dialed back the camera shake lately or is it a menu option? There is way too little camera shake here, looks like they just slapped the cockpit view ontop of the screen, that wasn't the case in an earlier video posted in this thread.
Compare it to NFS Shift where they're going all in to capture the wildness of these cars

It's not a bumpy road, why exactly should the cameras be actively shaking? If that was the experience of drivers behind the wheel, not focused, but rather bobbing up and down, they would not even finsih the race because their necks would be sprained or broken.....Such cameras are more realistic in dirt racing or offroad tbh...

There's only DLC news left.

Only weeks to go and GT6 PS4 is in hiding, no details on custom race mode, no official track reveal videos of interlagos / Suzuka, no car list, Sony trying to stop people recording videos of the various show demos.

Are they ashamed of it or what? Another delay coming? 😂

At those high speeds with racing springs and tires you feel every single bump in the road, it's not like when you drive at 50kmh with your hovercraft-like Citroën ;P

Watch that clip. A race driver's head shake's like crazy during these types of races and the driver is completely exhausted from the workout trying to steer these beasts. Most video games fail to capture this aspect of racing which makes them look stale and slow imo, I think they should focus more on capturing that aspect than day/night cycle and dynamic weather etc.

Fast forward until the racing starts in the clips below if you want more real life action, check for bumps at high speed and when shiftng gears, etc. That's what I want,

I fully understand why a 100% camera shake simulation might not be ideal though but I hope they haven't toned it down lately since I thought it looked great before.

personally the view inside is the view that I like the least .. I prefer the hood or the roof or chase cam .. ^^
Hood cam is great too, especially if you have a steering wheel since it's close enough to almost feel like you're inside the car and you don't see 2 steering wheels and 4 hands (ingame and your own).
Cockpit view with a removable ingame steering wheel needs to be standard imo.

Wait there is no dynamic weather or time in the game? Like in Driveclub where you can set it to go from evening to morning and the sun comes up etc?

;/

That's a long race. In Forza Horizon 3 where you're just fooling around in an open world it's cool with night/day cycle, but in a track racer? I've never understood why this is important tbh.

I've STILL to see any news regarding GT6 on PS4! I must be looking in all the wrong places...

I got to try the PSVR demo at pax. The track was on Willow Springs horse thief mile with only one other car but it was amazing!

The sensations of going uphill and downhill is totally different in VR. Along with looking ahead at the apexs and the other car is so cool! The resolution was kinda bad but still had a blast running through the demo. The horse thief mile is gonna be a fun little track

For certain classes of racing, day/night transitions are an intrinsic part of the experience. The sped up nature of the transitions in games is to match the sped up nature of the endurance races in general.

In video games the race duration is much shorter, so the transitions have to be much faster to match. As someone wants the experience to be more realistic they can increase the race duration (which will similarly slow down the transition).

Any Pro benefits to this game?
Yes

A camera can't capture what the driver sees. Your eyes can move up while the head is moving down for example, your brain is doing its best to stabilize the picture.
