Grant Morrison's 'Nameless' is one gruesome mindfuck comic you MUST read.

I can't recommend this enough. Imagine Event Horizon crossed with the occult, by way of Jodorowsky. The writing is insane, multi-layered, and the art is wonderfully gruesome. Morrison hits on all cylinders, and is at his utmost surreal here. If you're into horror, then this is right up your alley. The trade edition comes out in March and I can't wait to buy it.

'NAMELESS tells the story of a down-at-heel occult hustler known only as "Nameless" who is recruited by a consortium of billionaire futurists as part of a desperate mission to save the world. A massive asteroid named Xibalba—the "Place of Fear" in Mayan mythology—is on collision course with the planet Earth. If that wasn't trouble enough, the asteroid has an enormous magical symbol carved into its side and is revealed to be a fragment of our solar system's lost fifth planet, Marduk, destroyed sixty-five million years ago at the end of an epic cosmic war between the inhabitants of Marduk and immensely powerful, life-hating, extra-dimensional "gods." One of those beings is still alive, imprisoned on Xibalba, dreaming of its ultimate revenge on all that exists. When Nameless and his teammates inadvertently unleash this malignant soul-destroying intelligence, the stage is set for a nightmarish, nihilistic journey to the outer reaches of human terror.'

EDIT: Since many people here have been asking for more shots from the comic, I have decided to add them in the OP.

Yep yep, was planning on getting the trade. Can't wait!

I haven't read the latest yet but it is really great. Anyone who knows me knows I love two things; 1) Cosmic Horror and 2) Space horror.

This ticks it all off. It's really glorious. I was like texting my girlfriend panels and shit. You could have this stuff framed on your wall.

Beautiful stuff.

The latest is going to make your head hurt. BAD!

I had to read it thrice to get a lot of the references to the occult and Mayan mythology Morrison has incorporated in there. The sick visuals though!

After reading the appropriately titled The Filth and reading the absolute travesty that was his run on X-men I'm never reading any Morrison. Actually Arkham asylum was good, I'll give him that.

Is it finished?

Exactly what I wanted to know.At this point, I don't know that I really enjoy reading comics during their run as much as I like to read the complete story once it's finished. Grant Morrison is tops for me in terms of writers who still put out work, so I definitely want to check this out. In trades.

I really enjoyed some parts of The Filth, the fourth wall breaking stuff was incredible...

Must be because the first issue of Wytches came out right at the end of 2014 because Wytches is the scariest comic I've read in just about ever...

This was probably my favorite series last year. Morrison and Burnham go all Event Horizon and put out the most horrific comic I've read in awhile. I don't even wanna know what dark corners of the web Burnham went to to find reference for some of the fucked up stuff he drew in this series.

X-Men was great, though the ending stumbled a bit.

Man, that's a scary thought. Lol

Day one for the hardcover. I've been waiting forever to read this.

Haven't read any space horror in a while. Thanks for the share, OP!

Edit: I haven't bought comics/volumes in some time. This might change that. Could I get a PM too pls?

This looks like it be too intense for me but at the same time I'm intrigued because the astronauts covered in occult symbols look fucking awesome

Pick up the next 5 from Comixology and you've already got the complete collection.
I still prefer owning/reading from a physical thing. I'm fully digital with games, movies and music, but books and comics I like to hold.

But I don't do it much. Maybe if I keep using comixology I'll adapt.

Fair enough, I used to be a bit like that but I've done a full 180 and now I reckon my old paper comics just look like crap next to their digital versions - if you don't have the right size tablet there's no point trying though.

I always saw the ad in my image books but never bothered googling it. You've sold me on the HC next month.

I just need to remember to order it on Wednesday.

Just finished it. Lot of layers to unpack. Some really great images that are gonna stay with me. Sorta seemed like it ended in the middle of the story though. All in all, it was pretty great and I'm definitely gonna pick up the trade. Might grab one for my brother too, seems like something he'd be into.

Enjoyed the first issue when it dropped. I bought the rest and never read it, sooo I guess I should get on that. Thanks for the reminder :P

Morrison's the best

Oh god yes this looks like the Planetary bad ending I always wanted...

Will be picking this up for sure. Thank you for the tip!!!
