Grant Morrison's 'Nameless' is one gruesome mindfuck comic you MUST read.

Just finished it. Lot of layers to unpack. Some really great images that are gonna stay with me. Sorta seemed like it ended in the middle of the story though. All in all, it was pretty great and I'm definitely gonna pick up the trade. Might grab one for my brother too, seems like something he'd be into.

I've read it thrice, and there's definitely a LOT to unpack. Several references I still don't fully grasp, but it's highly intriguing. Plus, I've been reading up on some articles on it that help.

Is it just one volume or are more to follow? I don't like to read incomplete stories, I find myself not caring about it if there's too long a wait between releases.

This looks awesome. Can anyone suggest anything else in the space/cosmic horror group that I can buy that is complete like the collectionof this in march is?

Looks super fucked. I want to read it. This is definitely something I would avoid if it were a movie though.

Is that a Berserk reference I spy?

I just ordered the HC for this, and then ordered Sex Criminals, and Hawkeye Volume 1 and Volume 2 by Matt Fraction. I haven't read any of these.

Oh man.

I have yet to pick the last issue but it is SO.FUCKED.UP.

Like, the last pages of issues #3 and #4 are such unexpected gut punches. Chris Burnham realy is on the top of his game. So good, so twisted.

Beware though, it has got Morrison's brand of fucked up narrative. The point is to make it hard what is real and what is nightmare, full on dream logic up in this book. It's kinda of a sequel to The Filth in a sense.

Funniest thing is, Nameless publication overlaps with another Grant Morrison comics publication : Klaus over at BOOM studios.
Which could be pitched as Santa Claus : Origins or All-Star Santa. And it's uplifting as fuck.

I made the mistake of reading the last issue late, and I was totally lost. Had to read it all over again to get what I had just read. It's an incredibly dense read. The fifth issue is such a revelation though.

Not to big on comics but this looks great. The scans look very unsettling but in a beautiful way. Thanks for sharing OP.

Is there an actual story in this series or is it just a bunch of nasty stuff with some pseudo-intellectual lines like "what is human" BS?

There is and, as far as the what is human thing is concerned,
no one even tries to answer it properly
, so let your fears of intellectowankery die.

If u like morrison acid trips ur in for a treat
I persoanlly liked his prior series annhilator more

Edit also klaus is awesome and i fear i missed issue #3 @o@

Looks like it's time to order this, Multiversity and Annihilator next month. Faak I can't wait to get my mind blown to bits.

And then we got WW Earth One coming in April! Great times to be a Morrison fan.

Annihilator was phenomenal, another great mind fuck of a story with jaw dropping art by Frazer Irving.

And he's starting his tenure as Heavy Metal's EiC in April too, he's at least bringing Chris Burnham and Frazer Irving for stories in it so that should be fun.

I really liked it but it felt like it could have used another two issues or so to space things out a bit better. A lot of the "surprise" twists were of the expected sort in terms of this kind of work but still felt like they came out of nowhere as there wasn't a ton of build up to them or the characters involved with them. It also ended on a somewhat anticlimactic note and again felt like one more issue after the last one.

All in all though its a pretty intense trip with some rather disturbing imagery.

Those asking for more sci-fi/space horror-ish material, check out 'Annihilator' by Grant Morrison. Phenomenal on just about every level and worth buying in an instant. It's like Fear & Loathing set in Hollywood, with a sci-fi backdrop that's completely meta. One of the best written comics in a while. Not gruesome as Nameless or anything, but you're in for a treat just the same.

Some shots.

I just finished.

Ive been repeating non stop for 15 minutes "what the fuck did i just read?" in my head

Someone answer this question for me please

This is definitely a great series. I've been on an occultist/horror/Lovecraftian comic book binge lately. I need moar!

Sounds like your typical overrated Morrison garbage to me. Nothing the man has ever done has been must read.

I'll just stick with the 29 other Image titles on my pull list.

Doom Patrol, The Invisibles, We3, Annihilator, Arkham Asylum, Animal Man and a tonne more would love to disagree.
