GT5 News - Nurburgring update (pre-E3 edition)

What date is E3 going to be this year? The video replays are really impressive to say the least. Broken record here but cannot wait to see how the head tracking feature will work, no doubt in my mind the game will take centre stage with such features at E3.

Why is the game being promoted so strangely? It's like these videos leak from GT players. Can't polyphony give some nice direct feed to 1up or something...

PD doesn't give a fuck about anybody but themselves, including their fans.

Sony's the reason that no new info is coming out. Tretton mentioned during a recent GTTV interview that they were focused on marketing the games coming out in the first three months of the year. Now that seems to have switched to Modnation Racers as it's their next first party game.

Thanks SS! The slight bump where the track dips on the edge is not something I remember from GT4, though I don't take the line that the AI car takes there. It's kind of hard to tell but do you think the real driver driving the line slightly to the right gets the same effect? Its seems he still gets that bump but its effect is less noticeable to the right of the edge of the track.

I've never been so frustrated about a videogame. I've been a loyal GT fan ever since GT1, and at this point I've given up on GT5. Seems like they'll never fucking release it. Might as well wait for PS4 launch at this rate. Argh!

GTs have enormously long legs. It doesn't need to adopt the blockbuster model of squeezing as much sales as possible in the first month. GT4 still sells now, and so will GT5 five years from now.

He definitely got it, there's a slight bump.

And it seems to work really well seeing as they lock themselves away and don't bother about the shitstorm of abuse thrown at them, or console wars, or competition taking jibes at them.

Instead just spend the time they need to make the game they want.

For the record, GT4's blowout didn't come until TGS 04 (a few months before the game was released). Before then all that was really known about it was that it had a bunch of cars and tracks.

How can you be frustrated after all this time. I think most of us have adopted the same mentality as PD: when it's done.

Yeah you people are going ahead of yourself.

If you would be harrased by GT5 marketing until sometimes this fall you would actually complain MORE or start to not care. You cannot hype the fuck of a game too early and for years long.

I wouldn't except real info before some bits at the E3 and some mega-blowout at September's TGS.

Live with it. So many games out there worth playing, chill out.

I want someone to ask the GT5 team if they have any thoughts on Move.

Sony has lots of franchises to do synergies with, they want to help make the controller as successful as possible. I think 2 Move controllers, one for single handed steering, and the other for switching shifts could work.

You use the triggers on each controller for gas and breaking, and then the playstation buttons for the usual set of controller actions.

Was already covered in some interview(the one where the kazwank.gif is from). Kaz said that he thinks that motion controls are cool but he doesn't have any plans of incorporating them into GT5. Who knows if plans have changed though.

Gotta say I'm loving this steady constant stream of videos :P
ya me too, but I'm just wondering who this mimaximax guy is thats uploading all these videos. Didn't those videos showing the bumpers falling off come from this guy as well? Why haven't these things showed up before.

Doesn't matter, Sony ninjas are on their way to his house as we speak.

If not, I'd be surprised. They are still aiming for a 2010 release, no?

LOLZ my little brother just inquired, "Why does Gran Turismo always have porn music?". To which I responded with: "Because it's porn, just not for normal humans"
:lol

I hope "the blowout" is at E3 and not TGS...simply because E3 UK time is 7pm...where as TGS is 5am, and getting up is a pain :P

Is Top Gear big in America? It could be cool to have the Stig on stage at E3 doing a live demo of the TG Test Track next to footage of a real lap...like the Fuji Data Logger video PD put out.

I'm amazed at the driver's animation. The way he pass gears on the stick, the way he moves his arms and torse and head depending of the angle and strengh he's stearing... It feels so natural. And I'm not even mentioning his eyeshield's reflection...

Tell him there's a place for Jesse Jane's enthusiasm. :lol

Loving these new vids.

Agree with the guy who said E3 will have a full blowout. Seems like the perfect time.

The Nurburgring also seems to be much bumpier than it was in GT4.

:lol Yeah I don't think they would ever use GT4's tracks in the game.

Iknos? Is that you?

:lol

No. Not me. Probably another racing fan who plays all sims regardless of the platform they are on.

Seeing all those cars on Indianapolis makes me hope for solid online play. Prologue was a mess and if there is anything I want ready on day one is a solid online experience.

If not there is always lag free LAN play. Looking forward to that moreso than online play.

This game has been in development forever. How exactly does Polyphony survive as a company??? Are they a skeleton crew of like 20-30 guys or something??

Yeah, cause 5 years is the longest a game has ever taken to develop, and they haven't put out any games in between GT4 and 5. I mean do we really have to cover this again and again?

Yeah, the eyes move (according to where he is going, like the head movement) and blink - says so in the description aswell :D

What's next? Opening nostrils?

By selling over 50 million copies of their games. And during that "forever" they already sold over 6 million copies of new games.
