From the streams and clips i've seen, there seems to be a pretty colossal issue with over saturation and extremely dark areas that have very limited visibility. Not sure what's happened there, hope the fix it

Like they applied the xbone upscaler

SA looks really sharp on iPhone6+ after yesterday's patch.

Pretty funny that it runs at a higher resolution on a phone than on 360.

Bought it with left over cash on my account. Its full of bugs though. Voice audio cuts out during the first cut scene when I reached the train and if you pause the game during pause able cut scenes the audio starts all over. Scene won't end until the audio is finished. Pretty funny stuff but not bad if you ask me. 720 is an odd choice since older PCs could do 1080 with it easy. I was doing 1080P with an AMD 3400+ (single core) and X1900XT back in the day.

Even if the port isn't great, it's four bucks to replay a great game. If it was more, then it'd be worth complaining about, but it's a steal.

Just an FYI for those comparing to the PC version, a friend of mine (Ash from the VCS PC Edition project) pointed out that the PC version of SA was fixed with the PS2 color filter and GUI assets from the mobile version. This is how the PC version looks now:

Huh? I'm confused. Did the Steam release get an update or something?

What? III was that. It's just gotten bigger and better since then.

San Andreas is the second highest selling GTA game of all time behind GTAV, it actually sold more copies than GTAIV worldwide. According to Rockstar themselves GTA: SA sold over 27million copies worldwide as of 2011, while GTA IV sold 22 million during that time (though some reports say it has reached 25million sales world wide). And you also have to remember that the PS2 is the highest selling game console of all time and this is the number one selling game on that console worldwide.

San Andreas sales went into overdrive when the hot coffee controversy popped up in the media and it literally became free advertising for the game. It was a cultural phenomenon for 2004.

I could only imagine the 360 version not being a real native port at all and running in some ARM/ Android wrappers. It's the only explanation.

I was watching the comparison video, noting the improvements like better lighting, there's a high-resolution reflection map in the police siren and the trees don't have a white border around them

,

but then I see this...

What the hell is happening with Officer Tenpenny's lip and eyelids!?

I also notice the headlights of the police car has changed, but the model itself has a mis-aligned vertex or something causing the artefacting that I can see here;

When people started talking about a widescreen/ xinput patch on Steam, I was actually kind of excited at first. But after seeing videos/ screens of this 360 port.... I am not so sure now. I really hope that the PC version doesn't get replaced by some sort of mangled mobile port.

For $3, I can't complain much. I like playing it for achievements and maybe that will finally get me to complete this game after all these years. I've came close on two different occasions before giving up.

I've noticed a few minor problems that I hope they're willing to fix with a quick patch, but I've still had a blast with it so far.

Indeed. I wonder why it's exclusive?

No PS3 version, No Buy

I can't help but be disappointed

I would be too if it were not one of the weakest entries in the series. Despite putting over 300 hours into Vice City I could not stand the story in SA. Felt so "poor" in comparison. VC referenced/ripped-off the beat crime films of all time (godfather, scarface, goodfellas, casino, hear) where SA was limited to the scraps (dead presidents, training day, whatever )

So a loss... But not a huge one

Are you calling Training Day one of the "scraps" of the crime film genre?

Dude.
