So after E3, with dozens of next-gen games revealed, we'll have GTA5. Is this what happened with San Andreas? Remind me.
Dear all,
Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013.
We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September we thank you for your support and patience.
Yours,
The GTA Team
September is extremely disappointing. Now there's nothing to look forward to in the first half of the year except for Last of Us.
Wow, 3rd quarter!!
This will probably be my last PS3/360 game
Probably can't wait for a rumored PC version.

Interesting
Seems like a terrible time given the next gen launch likely a month or two away from them
Probably for the best. May needs to be dedicated to The Last of Us anyway.
I don't think it will be for next gen sadly. They may as well get the next gen console announcements out of the way now too so I can just put my preorder on the PS4 version.
Cool, PC GTA V in 2014.
Playable ENB version in 2016.
Super.
The Last of Us saved.
Why not port it to next gen too?
March would have been better.
If anything that is lucky for The Last of Us, GTA is the type of franchise that takes over everything for a while, I personally wouldn't want a new IP going up against a new GTA game.

Next-gen consoles are probably releasing by then ...
I guess Pachter was wrong. Surprising, given how accurate he usually is.
