In 2006, MAIET brought free-to-play action shooter GunZ the Duel to North America. Six years later, GunZ the Duel 2 is finally being made. Here is the official announcement trailer.

Now, some person has appeared on GunZ Factor and recorded this video of Gunz the Duel 2, showcasing the "Mansion" map (a remake of the Mansion from the first GunZ game)

The beta launches in Korea in December, the release date for the game in the west is yet to be announced.

Traditionally, the game appears to contain the same gimmicks as the first game had while expanding on them. "Classes" are now in the game, as are extensions to the physics and graphics. The wall-running is still there as are the fighting styles (k-style, etc).

nice, I loved the game back when it was new, went back to it a few years ago and the lag was just annoying me, it's always been there but in todays internet world it should be a lot better.

I played the shit outta gunz back in middle/high school. Fun game but the community is shit. It had some of the most elitest/racist players ever. I'll probably check this out for nostalgia sake though.

Were you playing before or after the hackers hit? GunZ is still a fun game today until you find the hackers which seem to be everywhere in the game now, it's probably the only reason I stopped playing.

Hopefully the hackers will be nonexistant in GunZ 2.

The SECOND duel?! I had no clue this was getting a sequel. I remember sinking in so many hours into this game. And then I got to the point where everybody would start butterflying so I quit. That has to be the most annoying thing I've ever seen in an MMO. Is that still possible in GunZ 2?

I'll approve it on greenlight anyways. Heard some bad things about it but I'll give it a chance because I'm a bit of tired of playing shooters that don't focus on lateral movement.

I just hope that internet lag and detection is much better, hit markers and noise mean nothing if your shits really miss because of half a second of latency.

I used to piss off a lot of players trying to be good with the whole sword switch jump stuff just by playing well and shooing them, they they would cry for me being cheap lol.

back when this game was first out in america and europe and when the forums were on maiet's own servers I was actually a mod for them, had a white bug trench coat in game (it only gave 5ap but looked swag) and helped them out for a few months, it was rather cool.

Lots of people had patching problems in the early days, that was a pain to try and help with heh.
