Half-Life 2 episode 3 map leaked

http://www.valvetime.net/threads/the-leaked-maps-of-the-half-life-2-episodes-part-1.257758/

This map appears to be from the cancelled Half-Life 2 episode which was being developed by Junction Point Studios in late 2005. It takes place in a snow-themed version of Ravenholm which includes small puzzles, scripted sequences, and fights. This game is not related to Arkane Studios' cancelled Episode Four, also known as Return to Ravenholm, which would have also take place in the town.

It is implied that the player crashes into a warehouse in a gondola. He wakes up in a room with two unique characters named Duncan and Scooter. There is a train station and buildings nearby. A group of rebels and Combine Soldiers fight on the streets.

Make me forget number 3 if old.

I was really looking forward to some sort of troll message within the OT title.

But holy shit.

Thread title got me way too excited. Was hoping for something taken that would imply an ongoing development for Episode 3.

Just to be sure I scanned the title for commas while the thread was loading.

Man, a Ravenholm after a snowfall sounds like it would have been amazing. It sucks that Valve seems to not be very interested in single player games anymore.

I'm pretty sure this was the third-party Episode 4 that had some stuff leak like two years ago. It was to come out alongside EP 3 IIRC

False thread title, that's not from Episode 3 but from a cancelled Episode by Junction Point Studios. Even says so in the description OP posted.

This is not Ep3, but was supposed to be a separate episode made by Warren Spector and co.

warren spector, now there's a name i haven't heard in a while. given how DE: IW ended up (never played it myself), maybe it's a good thing this was cancelled.

A really cool and interesting look inside old/cancelled Episode builds I must say.

Wouldn't be surprised if it will take a decade or so until Episode 3 and/or Half-Life 3 builds from Valve gets leaked.

I would feel much better about my life if I never clicked on this thread and got cock teased by something I will never
EVER
get to play.

valve, please save us with orange box 2

We will never EVER, as users but also as the video game industry, see a product like the orange box. Perfect in all regards in terms of quality and absolutely ridiculous value.

I know this is not the thread for that, but goddamn.

I also feel that Valve is like jesus christ to some extent, faced exctintion as one of the best game developers to give us the best digital videogame platform and move us forwards in what is probably the biggest step gaming industry has ever taken.

All things considered, if giving up half life is what took to put PC gaming where it currently is then it saddens me to say it's all well worth it.

Farewel, Dr. Freeman.
