All over my 250GB harddrive.
This. Didn't they do this for ODST already? Or is there some decompression that needs to be done with Halo 4 MP content?
Every PS2 game required a memory card
You don't find it unfortunate that a percentage of the people purchasing Halo 4 won't be able to play its online multiplayer without having to go out and get a memory card?
DVD9 starting to become an increasingly limiting factor, it seems.
poor 4gb xbox consoles
No, it didn't, and neither do all Vita games and so on. Regardless, the point is no company will do that for you, it's not like this is the first game with such requirements.
So, it's completely unplayable on some models, unless you buy additional hardware. Consoles are losing their easy of use advantage over PCs more and more these days.
Time for all those 4Gb users to upgrade if they want to play Halo 4 correctly.

Not at all. Frankly, I don't think there will be many affected, 8+ GB flash drives are not that uncommon in people's households nowadays.
My 60gb weeps :|
They'd do well to create some sort of bundle with a memory stick, but thats a really big fucking install.
Is this for downloading other additional maps or the entire multiplayer? I haven't paid much attention to my 360 for a while so am not sure what this is to allow.
I don't understand why a console needs this, am still shocked when I hear of the mandatory installs on the PS3. Surely this is what there suppose to NOT do compared to a PC?
Is this game just poorly optimised for the 360 or what?
I wouldn't be surprised if games move back to cards and drop the disc format next gen; with strong downloadable options ofc for the hard drive if you so wish.
WOW that's just nuts as a mandatory install.
One of the reason's people like 360 so much is because they don't have to deal with that.
Nothing kills the mood quicker than being forced to install a game.
EDIT: Yes I know it's only for the MP, but let's be honest everyone is going to at least dabble once into it.

More and more people are getting use to installing games, just to save on disc wear and noise levels. I hope this becomes an option for next-gen, despite disc capacity getting a large boost.
Doesn't really concern me specifically as I have the 250GB Glossy Slim.
Except the 4GB Slim is the right 360.This is only an issue if you bought the wrong 360.

If you still have a 20G Xbox after all these years I'm sure it would be incredibly cheap to get a used larger HD or USB flash drive.
People are complaining about having to upgrade just for multiplayer for a game they are going to drop $60 down for. Memory upgrade is just a fraction of that and it will benefit you for other games too.
I'm still on a 20GB HDD and I absolutely refuse to pay the ridiculous prices that MS charge for its HDDs. And yes, the HDD space limitation has stopped me from buying DLCs and other online content before.
i'm sure those people can afford a 16GB USB stick.
What other 360 games lock you out of multiplayer if you have 4GB of storage or less?
This is as bad as all those vita games requiring memory cards in order to play them. SMH.
