Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer trailer, GAMESCOM 2015

not sure what map you are referring too with the pegasus and orion comment, but this map screams forge to me:

really looks like cookie cutter pieces in the same style and design as much found in eden/empire.

This one:

It sure looks a little more complex, but Frankie also teased significant changes to Forge and the outside area really reminded of Orion and Pegasus in the footage. Sadly, it's once a gain a grey map, which looks pretty boring. Should be a little more colorful, if you ask me.

And yeah, your example also looks like something you could do in Forge.

Really pleased with the fact that they really can differential and focus in on both Arena and Warzone. The arena maps they've shown so far seem like proper arena maps. That'll likely be the end of the half-assed maps that were hoped that could work for both competitive play and social games like Snowbound, Isolation, Standoff and the likes.

But I do fear for the classic maps such as Zanzibar and Blood Gulch. Will there still be room for more fun and relaxed social games? No game I played in the beta for instance was relaxed, every game was super competitive (which I loved). Is there going to be a proper BTB playlist for instance?

The multiplayer looks like a blast to play. I hope I can stay competitive.

the beta's matchmaking was fantastic. very good competitive matches, lots of 50 to 47/48/49 games. regardless of your skill, i think you'll have a pretty good experience most games.
But btw was that overlay in the "pro" match part of the spectator mode? (team name, player name) or was that just self produced?

one of the options for spectator mode. it sounded like there may be more?

I really hope they can deliver with the two separate modes.

Would be quite amazing if we have two very different Halo styles in one game.

I love the idea of 12v12 Battlefield-like gameplay, contrasted with the tight arena intensity of Halo.

There will be BTB, but it will come a few weeks after launch... I guess they want people to try out Warzone first... Which I would have done anyway...

Problem is, we've already seen what Forge maps look like in Halo 5. Not like that.

That map looks several orders of magnitude better than what we saw with Pegasus and Orion in the beta. I hope I'm wrong but I seriously doubt that Coliseum is a Forge map.

Match starts a little after the 2 minute mark. May wanna crank that volume down...
Thank you.

... Commentating like they were playin' live. Wow. Had to mute that after a short while.

Game looks great though! I'm glad they tightened up the Pistol's RoF a bit. I know people loved it in the beta, but it just felt too loose to me. Still kinda wish it had a better scope.

[EDIT] - Or maybe these guys just had the good sense to time their shots more carefully. I dunno. :p

i wouldnt assume that pegasus and orion, if they even make it in the final game, will look like they did in the beta

Honestly this game has already fixed my problems with Halo 4: unequal starts and poor map variety. Also, future maps are free. I see no reason for this game NOT to be successful and last longer than H4. Something really terrible would have to implemented, or another MCC scenario would have to happen. They're giving us so much content for it to be bad I think.

It's not a problem at all, because Frankie said Forge will see a significant change just last month. What they did with Forge for the Beta was probably just prototypes.

I know that I could be very wrong, but what does significant mean, if it's not any more complex, than the last iterations?

You are being extremely optimistic I think. Nothing wrong with that and I hope you are right. I still think it's very unlikely.

Yes, I am aware of the comments about how it has been "significantly" improved. I think he meant more in feature set (e.g. terrain deformation) than in graphic fidelity.

forge maps in the beta were nearly textureless. you expect it to look visually the same?

Frankie said no. It's going to be awhile he said, if I recall correctly

Damn. Well, we're just under 3 months from launch so I wonder when we'll get a big Forge and sandbox vidoc or breakdown with the new weapons and overview of vehicles.

Kind of regarding this, RTX is this week right? Does anyone know if 343 will be showing off Forge there again?

Frankie said they wouldn't be there in a big capacity (he's not even going thanks to Delta Airlines), so I doubt they show forge. Seems like it'll end up being an IGN first deal or something.

The trailer says rated T for teen? Is Halo 5 going to be T??????

Yeah, it is.

I expect that they will improve the way it looks for sure but I don't expect it to look totally different. I just don't think there's any reason to believe that map is a Forge map and to do so could be setting yourself up for disappointment.

I am eagerly awaiting the reveal of Forge.

Want SP trailer you all

With as much as I want to see the campaign stuff, I am fine with them shifting focus to multiplayer. It keeps a veil over the story beyond what we've seen in the available videos and found with their ARG and Hunt The Truth stuff.

Game looks a lot clearer now. Either the AA was smoothed out or the resolution was bumped. Those pics on the last page are really nice looking.
