Halo 5 November Update Sneak Peek

COD has taken the #1 spot on XBL most played list and I don't see it changing, even with this.
Well that didn't take long.

Been waiting for big team. I don't really like Warzone at all. That map based off headlong looks awesome, that was one of my favorite maps in Halo 2. They look kinda weird though with no textures but that won't stop me from enjoying them.

I like req weapons, more pls

Oh boy, forge maps.

Fuck this. When are we getting actual maps?

Usually new maps are added to shooters a bit of a while after release. These maps are being added less than one month after release.

So it is more so BTB being rolled out at last and not so much a case where you can surmised the long term support the game may or may not have.

Not to pick on you in particular but the general idea.

Since there will be 15 dlc maps by June, this would be my ideal map count for these gametypes:

Btb - 5 maps

Warzone- 3 maps

Arena - 7 maps

I can take or leave forge maps, but this I really like.

One thing that has become clear in absorbing all your feedback is that Halo players want choice when it comes to controls. And with that in mind, we are also working on another little pet project that will allow even more precise tuning. This update will offer more custom fine-tuned control over controller settings (hint: independent vertical/horizontal sensitivities, the ability to calibrate your own dead zones, more granularity in sensitivity, and more). We hope to have that out for you in December and we will follow up with more details later.

I'm not on a high horse, I just think there's an expectation for maps from a high-profile release on a modern console to not look like this:

More, free content is great, especially this close to launch, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that that looks rough.

I mean, if you're talking about the road specifically... it was made in forge so the road looks artificial and goofy. I think overall the map won't look bad in game, and should be fun to play on.

Thing that bugs me the most is that the marker decals aren't evenly spaced. :\

Good shit, 343. I just wish your game wasn't making me so fucking dejected because of its random REQ unlock system never giving me the armor I want.

It's okay though, looking upon my collection I see I have almost every common armor, so it can only get better (and rarer quality) from here, right?

Glad to see BTB being added so soon.

Wait do these count as part of the 15(+?) post-release maps? If so then I should've known it was too good to be true.

I kind of like how you get the armor randomly, it forces you to try out new sets and mix and match.

Forge Maps ugh....

And lol at that "Pro team has to validate"...

I found this part particularly funny

When we started development on Halo 5 we had some very specific goals with regards to aiming. We wanted to provide a best in class 60fps shooter experience, embracing competitive play, with an increased skill gap, while still retaining the essence of Halo.

With the only exception being the pistol, the aiming "skill gap" has never been lower.

So much magnetism the game is practically aiming for you...

Well yeah it's a forge map

Maps built from the ground up outside of forge take time, the game's been out for a week

Yeah, one would think they were developing such maps since before the game launched. One would think they intended to launch with BTB and In-house maps, but needed a few weeks to tidy up.

It's quite surprising that they actually don't have any in-house BTB maps ready for the launch of BTB; which itself wasn't ready for the launch of Halo.

Dat headlong map looks...trash. Basin is probably the best looking one. Can't believe they are using Forge as the primary map editor for BTB...good lord.

Still having a blast with the game though, been playing it all fucking day.

So wait are a significant portion of the free DLC maps going to be forge maps? That would be disappointing. I wish these forge pieces had textures or something. Oh well they're free.

Also have we heard if there's going to be any way to play other people's forge maps in halo 5? Like playlists for user created maps?

So glad for BTB and vehicular combat but good lord the textures in forge are terrible. Why is everything so toy like? When forge is fully released, will they have textures for walls and what not? I hate the way it looks because it makes it harder for me to pinpoint landmarks so i know where im at. Im really surprised that forge textures are this bad.

Im still gonna have fun, but even old halo forge maps looked better than this. Its like everything is a unified matte color with zero textures applied

Didn't Pegasus and Orion count toward launch totals... I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

I'm excited for new content, but I want to know if these 4 forge maps count towards the 20 maps they said they'd be adding between now and June.

they said the game shipped with 20 maps, but if you take out the 3 Warzone maps, and the 3-4 Breakout(forge), and the poor rotation in Slayer, FFA etc, it feels like ALOT less, not to mention eden/fathom and regret/truth are slight variations of the SAME maps!

I just want more variety :(

They sure did, but it's 16+ DLC maps, this isn't DLC.

That's true, Halo 4 did add in some Forge maps without it counting, same with Reach. But then again they stated that 18+ (just checked the actual amount listed) were coming post launch, no mention of DLC. I think these guys count as 4 with the "+" meaning Community maps coming post-Forge launch.
