Halo 5 Theme Music

Some of the stuff in the opening minutes are pretty harmonically complex for your dudebro holiday shooter game.

I'm impressed.

Sounds like a bit more "grown up" Halo theme. Still preferred Halo 4 (117)

Halo's original music always sounds so hokey to me.

I'm surprised Microsoft deals with them after all the leaks that end up from them.

Even with the leaks, the tests are still super helpful for developers since they are all guided and require a survey to be filled out. It's probably one of the best ways they have of getting legitimate responses to certain things the dev team are trying to fix or optimize with people across the country.

I'll be honest the first 3 minutes sounds like a bunch of different stuff thrown in there and it's really off putting to me

Don't really like it, there's no central melody to the theme its just a bunch of mixed up stuff

This is really great stuff.

Music in the e3 stage demo didn't leave a single solitary impression, but this pulls me through all kinds of expansive Halo goodness. Sounds like there are distinct elements from each game to be found here too - definitely heard notes of Halo 3 and Reach in there among others. Beautiful.

And yeah, this draws me to the game in ways that demo reels and gameplay footage can't muster. This is a direct shot to my Halo lizard brain.

It a compilation of the first couple minutes of multiple songs..... I guess it wasn't clear enough.

I don't think it's actually the 'main theme', as people here are calling it. It's the main menu music. That's always been a lot of stuff thrown together.

Funny. I was thinking I liked what I heard around 9.35 or so.

I"m pretty sure VMC invited me into a Halo 5 Beta. It was called Project Hg, I assumed that stood for Halo Guardians. It was only to play for 2 hours on a Sunday morning which was going to be too early for me so I declined.

The code names have never been relevant to the game being tested, this Hg would be a coincidence.

Under Cover of Night has always been my favourite track in the Halo series, but it seems to be overlooked from the other popular tracks from the series.
My brotha. Under Cover of Night is GOAT-tier.

This music is good, I just hope we get a new variant of the 'classic' main theme like we did with Halo 1/2 and 3.
Seriously, all the stuff being linked is great, especially this. Halo has some excellent OST's.

On a musical note, I'm still looking for the name of the track used here.

I first heard it on the Halo 3 Legendary edition bonus content and it's been taunting me ever since. 343 reusing it just hurt me.

This is the kind of music I've always felt Halo deserves. I'll personally never understand the the praise for the soundtracks for Halo 1 and 2. Apart from the incredibly awesome main theme (and a few other moments), the rest of those soundtracks were mostly atmospheric tracks (like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7gzk0pAw3g&list=PLxoOpZa54NksiD8p9EWkcgt81eotkv-Xv&index=21). To me, Halo always deserved a symphonic soundtrack with sweeping strings and blowing horns (a la Star Wars). This cue from Halo 5 is what I wanted Halo's music to sound like (for the most part).

It definitely has its own sound, but still very much inspired by the classics. I really dig it, an infiniton better than 'mute me now' halo 4 menu music.

The piano around 2 minutes is really awesome, excited to see that contextualized in campaign.

As far as all time favorite Halo tracks:
Under Cover of Night + Bits and Pieces are hard to beat.
