I'm hoping they really are doing Steam ports for the trilogy. They're long overdue and I have a hankering for some more Multiplayer without having to renew my XBL subscription.
If they really do wait til E3 for Halo news it'll probably go like this: Halo 5 teaser trailer, then Halo 2 shown with announcement that it comes with invite to Halo 5 beta.
I totally forgot about this somehow. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. It makes sense for it to be shown at E3 since it was announced last year. Please just drop everything you've got on us in July MS <3

E3 is way too late to announce the next Halo game, if it comes out this year, so I won't believe, what Penello said on Twitter, because it's a typical PR response, like every time.
Can't wait for some more Halo news! I'm expecting Halo 2 Anniversary which should be absolutely amazing, but I'm hoping they show off a good bit of Halo 5 as well.
I have such fond memories of Halo 2 as well. I got my appendix taken out a few days before launch, and my first day being back home was launch day. I just sat there for hours in pure multiplayer bliss.

Halo 5 isn't coming out this year. Microsoft doesn't wanna CANNIBALIZE sales competing with Destiny.
A dudebro's head might explode to see a game, " from the makers of halo" next to halo... Then see "from the company that brought you call of duty" next to call of duty lol
The plan better include some form of multiplayer for 2014 that isn't a beta. Preferably a tried and true formula that includes Lockout, if you know what I mean...
Imagine the meltdown if the Halo 2 HD multiplayer is a map pack for Halo 5. To tide you over until Halo 5's release, the Halo 5 beta uses those levels.
