Any more that you want?

Did you just say the Halo 3 Elites are great?
Anyways I'm pretty sure they were going for ugly since for some reason they want the Covies to look like monsters. I was just saying how much better it looks on a purely graphical level.
I wish they would just go back to the Halo 2 design, oh well.
The standard Halo 3 Elite was. Except for the weird proportions. If they didn't force it to work for MP, it would have been great. Halo 2 definitely had the best designs for elites, though. Reach elite armor was nice, but the face ruined it. Same for halo 4. Good looking armor, but the face is awful.

Graphically however, I complete agree. Soooo much better.

Also no other reactions to the waypoint trailer?
It looks alright, though still annoyed at the lack of groups/clans. Other than that, I'm quite sceptical. Waypoint is barely functional as is, and I hope that the update fixes it so that I've got reason to go there more than once every few months, but only time will tell.

Dear God, what have I done? RENDER DUMP!
If anyone wants anything else I didn't post, like a render of a specific armor set or something just tell me.
I LOVE YOU <3

In all honesty, the only redesign I don't like is the Jackal. Really don't mind the others and maybe even prefer the Hunter.

I preferred the Halo 3 Elites the most, as they had the most 'character' in that design. Like valiant vikings. But then again, in that game they were also allied with you. So it kind of fit.

In Reach they made them ugly / "scary" looking, somewhere between 3 and 1's design. I didn't like the design as much as 3's, but it did fit them being enemies again. However, try as I might, I really can't visualize the Arbiter as anything but the H2/H3 version. I try to imagine the 'ugly' Reach Elite with the Arbiter armor on and it just doesn't work. Neither with the Halo 4 Elite body.

Part of the reason why I enjoy playing them in multiplayer. Their animations in Halo 3 have so much character to them, while Spartans are plain and just swim through the air upon dying.

My dad is 63 and a big Halo fan, but he doesn't go looking for content on youtube or read weekly updates and stuff.

I'm putting together a few youtube videos for him to watch before launch, so far I have:

Halo 4 launch trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIspQ1NmGf4

Halo 4 launch TV ad:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7dqtgkSWeQ&feature=relmfu

Spartan ops – weekly co-op - trailer :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDxNJFFiK3w

Couple of making of videos:
Hero awakens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3KLtf8DzCU&feature=plcp

Return of the forerunners
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55zOTemj03k&feature=plcp

Anything else you think I should add to give him the hypertrains?

Spartan Ops trailer was good. The CGI looks amazing.

The waypoint interactive guide has some nice pictures, but I have to say the information was a bit shallow. There was enough to give a basic description of all the new game modes, but I would have preferred some more in depth stuff.

It is. People weren't lying when they said it's at the Halo Wars level of CG quality if not better.
Can we please get Halo Wars 2 to compete, to push future Spartan Ops CGI to be even better?

I still think Blizzard's CGI is unmatched. If only their writing, scripts, screenplay, whatever were as good...

I thought the Halo 3 Elites were the worst of the games. Halo CE and 2 were the best overall, although if the Reach Elites armours had been designed to look more like the originals I think I would've liked them a lot better.

The Halo 4 ones look a little weird proportions-wise; are their arms smaller than they used to be? Also I can't tell if the skin colour has drastically changed, or is it just due to detail and rendering that they look so much like Predator now?

Literally just threw those renders into a single image because a mate of mine wanted me to. I'll post it here just in case anyone wants it.

Still working on my actual wallpapers though (which will be edited somewhat, not lazily thrown in)

Not half bad for a quick 'shop. Where's the background from, looks like a nice clean image to go on my secondary monitor.

if ms really includes kinect 2.0 in the next xbox, halo wars 2 needs to be there. this game deserves a sequel!
Halo Wars 2 with Kinect? Don't like that idea.

If they really decide to make a Halo Wars 2 add the following:

- more animations, especially death animations
- an additional race like the flood or now that we have prometheans, forerunners?
- more units
- more balancing, because people tend to play Hawks, Grizzly's, ODST's etc. only.
- more unit control

I probably forgot sth, but those things would make a huge difference.

---

Nice info drop lately. Would have been better, if it was released earlier, so that it would get more attention, honestly.

SpOps looks really amazing.

The downside of an RTS game like Halo Wars is it's too easy to spam one unit and win. Building the "victory fleet" to stomp opponents is an issue even in games like StarCraft, but fine unit control allows you to more easily scout and counter. To a degree, you can't really solve that without giving players more control than I think would be optimal for a console RTS.

Damn, right now the best thing ever happened to me because of Halo 4.

My year-long childhood friend, with whom I played Halo 1-3 and ODST, messaged me that he just bought a new 360 just for Halo 4.

He hated Reach and sold his 360, so right now this is really cool.

Seems like my old gang is together to play the campaign.

Halo Wars 2 with smart glass incorporation? You'd be able to easily select troops, make squads, build new troops/buildings/vehicles etc with your phone while you'd still be able to give orders with your controller.

In 3vs3 that's mostly the case. Mass Void Ray's, Thors etc. only, but it is really hard to balance the game for 3vs3 games. You are right, it's too easy to spam units and it mostly takes one attack to crush your opponent and win the game. It's hard to make a very good console RTS, but Halo Wars was really good.
It is fun to play, if you figure out, how to play it, like most of RTS games.

only if kinect 2 is a huge improvement (and it needs to be) and hybrid gameplay (kinect + gamepad).
Ah okay, thats what you meant, but I don't think Microsoft will include a gamepad for Kinect. They rely too much, on controlling the Xbox with your voice and with your body.

Remembers me, of the Kinect Starcraft 2 ad, which was an April Fools joke. Haha

I couldn't stop laughing, when the guys did the fusion with the Templers to the Archon.

Also this vvvvvv

That could actually work very good.

Halo Wars 2 could use Kinect to enhance the controls with voice commands. Voice commands for groups and activating special abilities etc.
Don't think anything else is needed. A mere controller is a bit too little for an RTS, especially considering the lack of precision.

I have been wondering this since E3 trailer, we saw these two spaceships in the liveaction segment:
I remember reading that the creators of the short used assets supplied by 343 and upressed them. We also saw the Mammoth the first time in the short.

Then the Spartan Ops trailer has this part in the trailer:

First few seconds, you can see the first spaceship. After that then the second one.

Am I crazy to think we might see space combat in Spartan Ops? I might be overthinking it.

This is Paris-class Frigate, no? With Infinity behind it. (Savannah in Reach was Paris-class)

I was thinking about Charon-class' retconned looks (Forward Unto Dawn is Charon-class).
I think one reason for this is to make the frigates to look more different, so that people can clearly see what class a ship is. And say "oh, yeah, Forward Unto Dawn was this type, and this is just UNSC's redshirt frigate".

It was so stupid for Bungie to make the Covenant Supercarrier look just like an Assault Carrier but far larger. Couldn't they make a new, awesome model for it?

Yesssss, that's it! I could not put my finger on it but it is Paris-class Frigate.
