Halo |OT15| Beta-tested, GAF approved

I wonder what Kyle and others think of that pornstar before/after makeup thread in Off-topic? I saw the first page with Holly Michaels, yikes. I almost don't want to click it at all and see the rest.

it's one of the major differences between the br and dmr, so you bet it's big. mostly in the added assist range it grants.
So if you create a gametype with only the DMR as a primary weapon, and if a TU can reduce the assist, will it be okay for everyone ?

Sorry if those questions seem stupid, but that's something I don't really understand, and I would like to, even if I played a lot of games in CE and Halo 2.

Some of them look pretty hawt without makeup. But jeeez, others are just... wow.

Give it another several years of what you're experiencing now with the franchise and you'll understand. I can't quit Halo when Halo is the closest thing to feeling Halo lol
This. This so much. Exactly what I was trying to say yesterday.

And I also have to agree if you don't expect any good of infinity slayer or Halo 4 you can have some fun I played yesterday like an asshole(still not playing with jetpack or camo nope) with juggling my ordnance had some great matches.

Why is Microsoft letting all of these rumors flot in the air? They need to come out and say something. Instead of hiding in the shadows.

I hope to god these are all rumors...
Microsoft never comments on rumours, don't see why they should now. They should just make an announcement about when their event is so we can start getting some more gifs.

Honestly I think the first 4 were addressed by Team Throwdown nicely. Though by loadouts if you mean removing PP, Plasma Grenades and the Boltshot, I 100% agree.

As for 6, the new maps are great, yeah they were not done by 343 but I don't really care about it that much really.

Other stuff I do agree on though.

I really really hope Red X's come back :(

Yeah throwdown is good but I want more than one ok playlist. The new maps are good but 95% of the rest are just awful. I'm glad we agree on everything else, but I really don't think the dmr is the biggest problem in this game.

Controlled leaks to get us used to the bad news :(

I mean - if the 720 was going to have a completely different architecture to the rumored specs, surely someone (maybe not microsoft, but a developer or someone) would have said something or at least tacitly hinted something by now. As with the PS4, the bulk of the rumors are likely true.

That last Spart Ops episode had a decent portion of outdoor missions. I have to say, the outdoor levels are really, really ugly. They portray the tradeoffs of 343's engine and quite frankly, they're the wrong ones. Halo's is defined by beautifull skyboxes and outdoor levels. Probably every single Halo game has wowed the gamer, scenery wise. Delta Halo, Sierra 117, Winter Contingenxy etc. Halo 4 has meh outdoor levels and that Apex levels looks bad, like bad bad. Not liking this.

Wait, those modded pictures are from Halo CE, with Halo 3 and 4 assets?

High FOV is nice. I remember when i played Halo PC, i always used this one tool to make the FOV wider, or play in third person. And then there was one more patch that broke it :/

I remember the third person one, there was also this badass trainer too that let you freeze the whole game but MC and even allowed you to play as any enemy or character if you touched them.

WRONG. Always Sunny is one of the best shows of all time and I mean that with 100% sincerity.

inb4 rum ham, frankie, yuhas, party boat, etc.

Amazing.

Immediately rethinks GOT OT strategy.
They're not going to dissuade people from talking about the next Xbox
Yep. 1% of the potential user base pays enough attention to the internet to read this stuff, and those people will probably all buy it anyways after they cry bloody murder on the internet about it.

Huh. Next time i'll play Halo PC, i'll google that and try it.
Of course i don't see much point in playing Halo PC when i have Halo CEA on 360 :/

Oh I remember that one. It was really cool. Thanks to it you could pilot the covie tanks which weren't pilotable. It was also fun to take over an elite and watch how the enemy AI would totally ignore you. God I loved that mod.

When you're superjumping, timefreezing, blowing needler chunks and rockets into people that'll send them into the next continent, bump-possessing Zealot elites to kill everyone with the sword, and using Medusa (enemies that look at you die instantly) you might have second thoughts about sticking to the 360.

Halo PC was my first.

That was soooooo 2010. 343i's Halo is about them small linear corridors and lots of bloom.

But yes. The ground textures in this game are terrible, and the skyboxes are all pixilated. Hopefully the Nextbox gives them the freedom to fix these issues with Halo 5

The 360's power certainly isn't the issue. It's about the priorities. If the 360 isn't powerful enough to display good textures/ skyboxes for your Halo, than redesign something because that's something you can't compromise on. Bungie always spoke with great passion about their environments and sceneries. I hate that Reach is such an overlooked game graphics wise. That game is really, really gorgeous. Especially the skyboxes. Scenery and skyboxes made up for a lot of Halo 3's visuals shortcomings too. Who cares if the game is 640p when you're looking at this:

Oh and hey, Reach is few pixels short of 720p! Cut the skyboxes, cut the textures, cut the scale!

Halo CE looks really ugly after playing CEA. Also, gotta find the damn CD.

343 is not Bungie, so there's no reason to expect them to make Halo games like Bungie. Halo is now made by CoD fans who only play Halo occasionally because it takes too long to get kills and it's too easy to get lost. Get used to it.

Halo 5's story will be sort of like The Wizard of Oz, with Chief finding new space buddies on his quest to locate the Emerald Promethean City so he can go home. Meanwhile, resident Wicked Witch Kevin Franklin sends Geoff Keighley and his army of flying Inheritors and Michael Vick/Bald Eagle-hybrids to stop Chief.

Why can't we get this as aircraft in Halo already?

What blows my mind is people complaining about Reach's colours and then holding up Halo 4 as an example of what to do. Reach has some desaturated environments and plenty of fog, but it's all very deliberate; the game still pops pretty well when it wants to. And even when it's foggy, it looks foggy, not the nasty haze you get in stuff like Ragnarok. Multiple-colour schemes are usually well-planned and quite pleasant to look at.

I wouldn't call Reach, visually speaking, my favourite Halo, but it's not bad at all. I will acknowledge that it can look sort of flat on LCD TV's, though. Not enough contrast. The first time I was really blown away by a Reach cutscene was, ironically, on an SD CRT.

Halo CE looks really ugly after playing CEA. Also, gotta find the damn CD.
It looks terrible when switching between Anniversary mode and Classic mode thanks to the "whats missing" mindset. But I think CE still looks extremely gorgeous on its own terms. Like I noted with Reach above, CE was made for screens with good contrast, and as long as I have a CRT sitting around I actually quite prefer the original Halo's visual design to Anniversary's.

Classic mode kind of blows regardless, though. It's got even more graphical problems than Halo PC, and inferior image quality.

New vehicles for Halo 5 or just a mega blocks rumor? From /r/Halo.

I hope it's the former :(
The vehicles look like shit. No offense but I do not want 343i to add them into the games. Personally I think the UNSC vehicles are great. They do not really need more addition. But 343i should go crazy with Forerunner vehicles in Halo 5. Hell, Halo 5 needs Forerunner vehicles!

Or have every vehicle that has ever been in Halo! Probably won't happen unless Halo 5 is moddable, though.
