Halo Reach E3 Trailer [M-CONF]

Was I bugging out or did I see the film rewind and not skip rewind like in Halo 3? Or was that on G4's part? Or was it being played live? WTF was going on lol

Made it home just in time for the Firefight announcement. And it has Matchmaking! Awesome! The Laser Designator has to be awesomely satisfying when used well.

I thought I saw that too, it'd be amazing if Bungie found a way to do normal rewinding. I also want to be able to skip ahead in saved films. Sitting through 50 minutes of a campaign film to see something awesome in the last 5 minutes isn't really worth it..

Especially when you're not paying attention and accidentally go past it with no way to rewind :lol That at least looks fixed with Reach being able to rewind campaign/firefight films.

IGN is showing reach now

-Space combat is one mission
-Seraphs have shields, you machine gun them and then use missiles to take them out, looks cool
-Space arena is HUUUUGE but of course not limitless
-In the mission CAMPAIGN SPOILERS
it's Kats idea to protect a space station called Anchor 9
-Joe promises even more surprises in the campaign

The space mission is going to make for some gorgeous screenshots.

Reminds me of Crimson Skies in a very good way (which makes sense given Sage worked on that game).

Yeah, it looked amazing. I love that it has the ghosting reticule, so you know how far to lead the target. And the area looked BEAUTIFUL.

Damn. That was sick. Holy fuck!

I wish Lars shot that Concussion Rifle!! Also, he missed the assassination on the Grunt AHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Spacebattles look awesome. 4 player co-op on Legendary. Damn.

IGN director: something new, cut to the two-shot.
Seriously, I was getting so mad. It's like the first look at a new game and they kept showing Tung. It seemed like even he was like stop showing us and show the game.

Did I hear right that they just confirmed that space combat is only in that one level? :(

yeah, but more campaign surprises!

Space combat was brilliant! Halo meets crimson skies FTW! I was really hoping Lars would fire that new covenant weapon :/ looked cool though :D

No kidding. I am a huge space fan and doing a bit of practical astrononmy for myself. It was like diving into one of the photos I try to take. Breathtaking even in this small window.

Only got to catch the spaceship portion of the IGN video but I'm glad I did. I never even made the connection between Sage, FASA, Crimson Skies, and this space battle in Reach. That and when he mentioned making it feel like it's own thing while still being in the sandbox. Made me think we could see it existing alongside the rest of the sandbox in MP or something. But then he said it was definitely a one-off event which kicks up those fears of adding gimmicky "turret" sections to Halo. Halo's always had variety and I've appreciated how that variety never relied on disjointed gameplay mechanics.

God I wish these things were longer so they could actually explain themselves. IGN's interview was better but still felt so rushed.

Damn, I missed the footage. I got a call from my Mom as soon as it started.

Hopefully it'll be up in video form soon. Sounds like it was pretty cool.

They did make it sound like it will be a big level, and that the initial battle we've seen so far is just a "first stop".

It's good news imo, I don't want space combat in every other level taking up 50% of the campaign. It should only be a change of pace. The formula is Weapons/Grenades/Melee, not Weapons/Grenades/Melee/Space Combat.

It'll be the majority of one mission at the most. Tung confirmed it's just that one level, and there's even a groundside lead-up to the space combat. So it won't even take up 10% of the game (assuming Reach has around the same number of levels).

Surely they can't have done all this for just 1 level. Has to be in multiplayer.
I've been thinking this since they've revealed it. Here's hoping there is a playlist and more maps for it.

Yeah true.

I still have a feeling that we'll get a Space Combat mode for Multiplayer. Heck, maybe even in Firefight mode. Now THAT would be epic.

It's a one-off event, but he also made clear that it's integrated in the standard sandbox; it's like fighting the scarab, for instance.

It's just only happening once.

I mean: it's not like we have one path to follow, or that enemies will spawn and do the exact same things one play after another.

Just watched the preview of Reach off IGN's channel for E3. The combat, the AR + Pro Pipe combo, I loved it. I loved it all.

Reach is going to be the only game I'll ever need. Of all time.
