Halo reportedly being announced for PS5 this Friday |OT|

I can imagine this to be hard to accept for many Xbox players but not for me. I had Xbox 360 and now Series S but never really played Halo. Which game should I start with?

While Halo hasn't been great for over a decade now this symbolic event will mark the final nail in Xbox's coffin.

Ha. IMO COD4 was the beginning of the end. Launched with halo 3 but a lot of halo players converted to cod from then onwards. Bungie with destiny too.

nope, it was Halo 4. it absolutely destroyed the franchise, and they have not managed to recover since.
Halo 3 and Reach overtook it in daily players within about a month after release.
Halo was very much head 2 head with CoD MW and MW2 until Halo 4 dropped like the hot steaming pile of shit it was

in late 2014, so 2 years after it released, Halo 4 had on average only half as many daily players as Halo Reach, and Halo 3 had slightly more players than even Reach had. so Halo 3 and Reach combined had 4x as many daily players as Halo 4 in 2014.
and there's only so much time a game can survive while being last gen, and not getting any updates.

with no new good Halo game since 2010, the franchise just died out. MCC had the potential to revive it, but it was nearly unplayable online for almost the entirety of the Xbox One generation... so that didn't happen either. which is insanely sad, because H2A multiplayer had lots of potential. it was the last true Halo game released essentially. but it was nearly unplayable for 5+ years.

This will be big for PS5. In the early 2000, when I was still playing with Ps1 and Ps2, I use to envy Xbox owners because they have games like Halo. I cannot believe that a flagship Xbox title will finally come out on a PS console.

Gears, Forza and now Halo. The triangle is complete.

Truly the final nail in Xbox's coffin. Hopefully they port MCC so PS players can enjoy The Holy Trilogy. (And Mummy Cortana in 4).

In any case, are we taking bets on how 343i/Halo Studios will fuck up this time? Terrible visuals? Horrible gameplay? Non-sense story? COD Multiplayer? Bad art style? Pay 2 Win? So many options!
 
Let's not forget that at one time Nintendo DS was going to get a Halo...could only imagine the reaction if it happened back then
