Halo reportedly being announced for PS5 this Friday |OT|

Still is...
Still is was 6 years ago and before the release of Infinite.
What happened with all of the post launch games of Infinite?
Wasn't it supposed to be the "new home" of the franchise, with story DLCs etc.?
And the next big thing could be another Halo CE remake instead of a brand new game.

Please be good, Id love to go back to Halo for a blast with some PS bros!

Halo infinite felt great to play but the campaign was a 7.5 at best and the multiplayer was terribly designed from a UI perspective and they had server issues. It ruined any chance of a great halo game.

It is

The "Halo Studios" rename is part of an entire reboot.

They want to recapture the 00s glory days of Halo, it begins with UE5 CE remake followed by remakes of 2 and 3 across all platforms.

Halo MCC and Infinite are finished, they've drawn a line under all that like the 343i era never happened.

I hope this is the MCC and cross play with Xbox and PC.

The MCC is really now one of the best remasters, at launch is was horrific, but its great now but the numbers are low.

This will be the new free to play MP offering, not saying the remake won't come to PS but can't see that being the big announcement tomorrow.

I spent about 99% of my Halo time in the 00s on multiplayer, so I'd much prefer that.

However I suspect that Virtuos who have plenty of UE5 experience will be much further along with their CE remake than Halo Studios with their new multiplayer live service companion games.

Maybe they both launch next November, who knows.

I just want back to basics Halo multiplayer with awesome graphics.

There is no MP with the CE remake as far as I'm aware.

I think this announcement will be the BR personally.

2 games are in the works, these are what we'll see on PlayStation...

The latter multiplayer game is referred to internally as Project Eker, which will likely have an online beta test before general release

I was under the impression(based on information provided by NateDrake and I believe even Sneakers) that MCC was coming.

They are usually quite reputable. It's possible it hit snags as thats probably very difficult to port(it was apparently patched up to be quite good on Xbox).

It's dead, Jim.

Don't expect Microsoft to port old Xbone games across.

I still hope that the PS5 being the preferred platform of many fighting game fans can bring them back to life someday. :)

Wasn't the rumor that it's a UE5 but still with BLAM! Engine under the hood remake?

I was wondering if they'll ever let that engine go and just go full UE5 or something new inhouse.

Everyone has wanted Console exclusives to die. Thank you XBOX for killing the exclusive. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

MS gaming must really need to make some money. I would love to see a meeting between Nadal and Spencer.

Calling it now - One or both of these projects is going to have some super zoomery art-style to appeal to a younger crowd and the primary Halo base is going to have a major backlash to it.

Draft the tweet.

Sony's meetings about 3rd party deals regarding FPS must be crazy right now:

- Bundles with a PS5 and COD (happened this year)
- Battlefield ads for PS5 (happened this month)
- Halo now coming to Playstation

They don't even need to try that hard anymore....crazy times. They are doing deals for the first 2 IPs i just mentioned and Halo on Sony consoles will always make for some interesting headlines.

And Bungie.
Yeah, my mistake…unfortunately it was supposed to originally be a dlc and it plays like one. Microsoft and their shit policies forced them to try and make it a full game, it shows and isn't great imo. They had claimed independence, but were contractually obligated to deliver a couple more games. Reach is their love letter goodbye.

I love ODST in my opinion it's Halo CE, Halo 3, ODST and Reach. 5 or Infinite being the worst.

cant believe they are releasing a halo with no MP, what about coop then? Let me guess no couch coop?

I'm personally still hoping for the CE Remake to have it and possibly MCC also come over to PS5.

The original series(1-3 and Reach) were integral parts of my younger gaming days and I'd love to co-op those campaigns with my son.

7.5 is generous. By the time I got to the 437th blue/gold corridor of the game, I was more than ready for it to be over. And that was just halfway in.
