The Wii owes its success to word of mouth.

bah the threat of legal action shouldn't be that overwhelming.nicholasbrutal said:According to my source (of the original rumor), there was definitely a legal team involved. I'm not sure if it's escalated beyond that, though.
Vyse The Legend said:This has nothing to do with the quality of the RB guitars, so take that drek elsewhere. The issue, here, is that Harmonix released a standalone copy of RB for PS3, and there is no guitar on the market that works with it.
of course it will. this nerfs the standalone Rock Band which no doubt costs them lots of christmas sales. they stand to lose much more than Activision does financially i'd argue.gcubed said:this wont piss EA off, there was never explicit support stated for GH controllers. The only reason it works for the 360 is because they had an existing controller on the market already.
The Faceless Master said:it's technically possible, MS would just have to disable the id that identifies the rock band controller model while guitar hero is running.
would they do it?
very doubtful.
It's not as if they won't, it's just that they haven't done it yet. Plan is for the release to be in January.mysticstylez said:Then Harmonix should release a standalone guitar. Why should they have to depend on another developers hard work so they can take advantage of it due to their own laziness to not produce standalone instruments.

WTF! I don't want three guitars. I only need 2. I brought GHIII so i could use the guitar for rockband also, just like a lot of x360 owners do.angelfly said:You shouldn't. If Harmonix was going to sell the bundle they should ave included all need instruments and not assume everyone would have GH. It's obvious thats what they were hoping by not including it or selling one in stores.

Timedog said:I don't think so. Is Activision really going to sue a company that makes them a shitload of money, over something that will likely cost them very little?

Sad times for you![]()
mckmas8808 said:YES!!! DIDN'T YOU SEE THEY HAVE LAWYERS INVOLVE!? Why can't you gaffers get it? Why would Sony be willing to get sued yet again?
quest said:You don't think they are sued every day? They should release the patch until ordered other wise by a court of law. If sony,ms or nintendo caved at the mention of a lawsuit they would be out of business.
Lightning said:PS3 version of COD4 is selling very well last I checked... I hardly see reason for Activison to be complaining.
Super_Chicken said:Activision probably told Sony, "Don't release the patch or we no longer make PS3 games." Sony obviously has to comply. Now their are small rumours they go after the 360 camp. Forcing harmonix to develop a patch for their game otherwise they pull their game library from Microsoft.
Their reason for it could be people who have not bought anything yet will probably only get one or the other and they assume because theirs is only 100$ people will learn that way. But it's stupid because many people would buy both. If Activision made RB guitars compatible everyone with a PS3 would eventually buy both. There would almost not be a reason if you truly liked these music games.
It's stupid though because people liked using the LP guitar because of it's better build and people would have probably bought a 2nd LP to use with GH and rockband. All they are doing now is looking like the bad guy.
Now they have a worse rep than Sony's PR staff and this is only making them look like the next EA (giant corperation that doesn't give a FLYING FUCK about its customers).
Fuck Activision!

Yea they could probably twist microsoft's arm they same way they did sony's. Tell them to stop Rock Band's DLC or online patchs until they remove the LP from the game. Otherwise every Activision game will be PS3/Wii exclusive. Obviously Microsoft wants it's Tony hawk games.FF_VIII said:Could they even go after the 360 Les Pauls?

Sony kills Rock Band....get the 360 version today?!
With the free Simpsons Game for people waiting for repaired guitars, it actually sounds like something that could happen.Eel O'Brian said:It would be really cool of EA to offer a rebate on the stand-alone guitars (when they're released) to anyone who bought the PS3 game-only versions. Say, have a printable form on their website, and you'd cut out the UPC from the game and send it in with the form and receive a $20 rebate for your wait.
I almost made it all the way through typing that without laughing.

I honestly don't think Activision has the power to boss around MICROSOFT of all companies to remove something from another companies game which is already in there.Super_Chicken said:Yea they could probably twist microsoft's arm they same way they did sony's. EA isn't doing me any favors by not offering me any choice but the bundle for PS3. No one is a good guy here.Link316 said:if you're a GH3 owner you would've had another game that could've worked with your guitar, Activision's limiting your choice, they're not doing you any favors
