Have you ever bought a console just for ONE game?

I re-bought a gamecube for RE4. Regretted rather quickly especially because it later also came out on PS2.

Also bought the first Xbox for Halo.

I absolutely loved the Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright) games on GBA.
When they announced that the port of the first one to DS would add a fifth chapter, I bought a Nintendo DS to play it.
So I bought a system just for one-fifth of one game.

While I already owned a PS2, for many games, I imported an American PS2 solely to play MGS2 early. If that counts.

I definitely bought the Gamecube at the time, solely for Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Persona 4 Golden was my sole reason for getting a ps vita, though I have also come to enjoy the system's other offerings.

I originally bought PS2 just for MGS2, obviously it quickly got bucketload of other fantastic games to keep me interested after that.
No such luck with Vita after Persona 4 Golden...

Just one: The Atari Jaguar for Tempest 2000. No regrets.

I tend to always buy Sony systems for WipEout until the PS4 that is, but certainly not with the idea of not getting anything else worthwhile, so those don't really count.

I'd like to say no but I just (past week) bought a PS2 for Hype The Time Quest. I couldn't get it to work on PC and I want to be able to play it. Technically I can play MGS1 too now but I really don't feel like it. Already beat it so many times back when.

Wii for smash bros. Yea i played other games on it but that was cause my brother bought them + tbh i didnt play them much(sorry super mario galaxy, i dont see why youre considered the best mario game). Dont regret the purchase at all.

Not only did I buy a Wii for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, not only did the game live up to my extremely high expectations, I waited in line on a very cold day for 5+ hours for that game, and for the Wii. Awesome memories.

PS Vita for Uncharted
3DS XL for Mario 3D Land
SNES for Secret of Mana
Game Boy for Super Mario Land
Nintendo 64 for GoldenEye #sogood.gif

Similar story to OP. Ended up buying a Gamecube just for RE4. IIRC, that was late gen enough that the machine was just $100, eventually ended up with a couple more games: Metroid Prime 1, REmake, and Zelda Twilight Princess.

I had a decent dell pc. I got Diablo 3, but the 2nd Gen i5's on board video didn't play it well enough. So I bought a video card, a 550ti. At the time I was big into bf3 on xbox, and for kicks purchased bf3 on pc for $8 on sale. The game ran like crap though with my sub part dual core hyperthreaded cpu. So I ended up buying a new mb, cpu, case and power supply. So, yes I built a pc for battlefield 3. I'm still a huge battlefield fanboys, and will not be a console gamer next generation, or at least until the price drops. Next Gen starts at the end of the month for me when bf4 releases.

I was about to post that I never have and never will, but then I realized that I got the Xbox for Halo 2. Then again that was when I was young and I didn't actually pay for it so... Never have, never will!

Xbox 360 - Halo 4

PSP - Monster Hunter

Neo Geo Pocket Color - The King of Fighters R2

PS3 - Final Fantasy Versus XIII ( yea I know....right?)

and I am planning to buy 3DS just for Monster Hunter 4

Nope, but for a couple of months now I've been on the fence about picking up a Vita just to be able to play P4G.

Well I essentially waited for MGS4 to come out to buy a PS3, so I guess so.

And I'm actually in the same boat that you were OP. I've been considering picking up a Gamecube simply for RE:0 and REmake. Considering they're only like $30 or something now I guess it's time.

edit: oh, I totally forgot that I have bought a 360 on 2 occasions for one game. First time was Forza 3. I sold that one when I got bored of just one game and then ended up buying a 360 again for Forza 4. Now it's too late to sell that one for any good money.

Few times.

Megadrive was bought for Ghouls 'n Ghosts but I got The Super Shinobi first instead as it looked better. Mega CD for Power Drift and it was never released.

Supergun for SFII CE.

PlayStation for Ridge Racer, Saturn for Daytona USA.

Bought a PC just for Counter-Strike and a whole new one a couple of weeks later for better frame rates.

Now I'm getting an Xbox One for Forza 5, although I'm looking forward to the next Forzas too.

I wouldnt say for it, But Ninja gaiden sigma heavily influnced my decision to get a PS3.

DMC4 getting a release date kinda cemented it.

I own a WiiU soley for Bayonetta 2.
