Have you ever fallen asleep while playing a video game?

I do it in Oblivion all the time. I normally wakeup and wonder how long I've been walking into a wall or a tree.

The only time it happened to me was with FF12. The grinding in that game was horrible, especially when you set your Gambits correctly. What a boring game that turned out to be.

i've done that with a few games... though i enjoyed them, i fell asleep to most of the newer final fantasy games, and the older chrono trigger game... i think i played them way too much, and was too sleepy to put them down... so i passed out.

The original Valkyrie Profile was so dull and boring that it put me to sleep. It's the only game that has so far.

Waiting for boats in Everquest.
X-Men Legends/2/MUA all put me to sleep. I think it's the extreme repetitive nature of the games.

FF12. I love gambits, because they take out 99% of the micro-managing, but they're almost a bit too much set-it-and-forget-it.

There should be a "have you ever pulled an all-nighter playing a game?" thread as well. (At least 10 times, and each time I regret it. Some games are just so addictive though. >_>;;)

Chrono Trigger was my first and I don't know how I managed to do so at that age. :lol

I do this all the time. My wife's a night owl, so we stay up late playing games. Kingdom Hearts, Brawl, Phoenix Wright, WoW. I've fallen asleep playing all of them.

Mm...the first time for me was with FFVIII while drawing out spells from the enemies during battles.

Most recently, with the Phoenix Wright games...mostly because I play the games late at night, laying on my couch. I've nodded off grinding in P3, only to awake to find my party annihilated. Ooof.

I fall asleep from time to time while listening to music, reading books, watching TV/DVDs, and playing videogames.
This is closely linked to the fact that I do these activities to relax and once I'm done with all my stuff for the day, or on the weekend. Most of the time I'm pretty spent, and thus prefer soothing stuff, or games that are pick-up-and-play friendly.

My most relaxing experience has to be Endless Ocean. Falling asleep while diving has given me quite a bunch of sweet dreams. I think this is why I love that game so much... no matter how stressed-out and wound-up I am, it always manages to calm me down.

"Waking up at four o'clock in the morning on the couch in the livingroom with my joints bending in ways they're not designed to" certainly is one of the drawbacks tho. :D

I've fallen asleep during online poker tournaments more times than I can remember. It sucks to wake up after losing half of my chips to the blinds.

I hate falling asleep while playing RPGs, because I'm really anal about letting the game clock run when I'm not accomplishing anything.

Yeah, I've nearly fallen asleep during FF12 as well, same reason.

You know that part on ZELDA: Twilight Princess where you go up in the sky and the wind is blowing and everything? Well, I fell asleep just before then. I somehow managed to get up there while I was sleep and made it to the next area and saved. When I continued the next day I had no idea how that was even possible. I could hardly believe it. :lol

Fell asleep twice during Dead Rising while trying to complete the 7 day survivor (finally got it the third time). That was the most annoying achievement I've ever gone for (and one of the two games I've gotten 1000/1000 for).

I fell asleep playing Crisis Core. My PSP fell from my hands, ejecting the disc across the train floor.

I took it as a sign and sold it for credit.

I know somebody who fell to sleep playing Phantasy Star Online (GC) nearly every night/morning/afternoon (depending on how long he could stay awake for).

He lost his job because of falling asleep after a session. And would be really quick using the toilet.

Think that went on for about 2 years.

He had previously spent probably over 1000 hours playing the Dreamcast version.

He likes to go to people's houses if they have an internet connection, even if he doesn't know them very well. He seems to have Wi-Fi built into his brain.

I fall sleep playing FFX-2 and..... of curse... NOT because it was bored.... because.... I was so tired... but I didn't want to turn off the video game!!

so... by the way.... I want to play mario kart wii!

cheers!:lol

I was playing Gran Turismo 2, some endurance race that I can't remember.

It was pretty late at night, I don't even know what I began such a long race to begin with. The problem is after a 1 hour and half more or less, I fell sleep.

Obviously, It sucked, had to do that race again.

Frequency (PS2) had me so entranced at some points that I was practically in a zombified state. I don't know if you call that sleeping, but I certainly didn't feel conscious.

I slept a couple of times while browsing through GAF. (I guess GAF is a substitute for games :lol )

I slept during a game of Civilization 4. Churchill, Roosevelt, and I (as Stalin) fought against Gilgamesh, Genghis Khan, and Saladin in an epic war for eight straight hours and then I fell asleep.

I think I fell asleep at the beginning cutscenes of Assassin's Creed or something because on my second playthrough, I was like, "That actually happened? I didn't know that!"

When I was endlessly grinding in DQVIII I found that putting on music in the background, helps keep your mind occupied from falling asleep. Just focus on the music instead of the tedious grinding.

Or just do something fun instead.

I fell asleep playing Chrono Cross and blacked out about 30 minutes of playing. The next day when I booted it up to play I was int he "dream world" area and I had no idea what was going on.

Just WWF No Mercy I think. Loved the game to death but quite a few times I'd play it really late, and fall asleep while it was on the menu screens or while creating a wrestler.

World of Warcraft for me....I've nodded off during a raid before...

Oh the countless times.... Typically wake up and log in to your ghost sitting at the graveyard and no rested XP to boot :lol

i remember falling asleep on Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 64 years ago because i was too ahead of the CPU.

recently, it would be the past 2 nights while playing Ace Attorney 2. playing at 3 am on a day with uni tests and classes for 6 hours is not a good idea.

My friend and I always bring up the times he and I fell asleep during Chrono Cross, and Legend of Dragoon (during the final boss fight no less), respectively.

Fell asleep last night playing Assassin's Creed. :lol Got the 1000 today though.

*throws it in a corner; never to be touched again*

BACK TO GTA.
