DVD/BD sales must be huge so it makes sense not to have them via streaming.Interesting that Game of Thrones isn't mentioned at all in the release, considering it is HBO's biggest show. I guess it won't be on Prime for some reason?
It's not a legal restriction insomuch as it's counter to the business model of HBO.I'm guessing there is some legal restriction in offering HBOGO as a streaming service by itself, that's why they haven't done it. Something has to be there with cable companies. I imagine their endgame is to have HBOGO similar to netflix in the future but right now this is just a stepping stone for them. Sort of similar to the way Target used Amazon to enter selling goods online.
No Sex & The City though?
never had hbo, or cable really. which of the listed shows are a must watch?

They're all pretty amazing, this is like, the last 10 years of superlative television.
Still though, no true detective, no true blood, no game of thrones, newsroom and veep coming later. This is a great package, but not the package most people are looking for.

Netflix must be pissed--this is the first exclusive content they've lost out on that I think is a Huge Deal.
Looks like Carnivale, Oz, Big Love and Bored to Death are also included:

The rest of the world doesn't exist when it comes to Amazon media services. This is US only, by the way.
No The Comeback? I know it's not one of their prestige series, but it's on Go, holds up pretty well, and seems like the kind of thing they'd want to stick on Prime given the recent faint rumblings of investigating a potential revival.
I would say loosing all 9 seasons of 24 is pretty big deal too.
In the UK we can stream seasons 1-3 of GoT on Sky TV, weird that it's omitted here.
Ah ;_;This is US only, by the way.
Normal rotation. It'll come back. No reason why it wouldn't.
That's one way to add value to the newly higher-priced Prime service.
This sucks, wish they'd given it to Netflix. I don't want two streaming services, and this doesn't quite move the needle enough in Amazon's direction. Their apps suck and aren't available on all of my devices like Netflix is.
bye bye netflix, i'll unsubscribe later today
this is huge D:
