Not having Grief's optimism, I'm not counting on getting into the Beta. Annoyingly I had two friends still playing WoW who didn't care, got invites, used the keys, played for 10 mins and said "lame, I hate CCG's anyways". ARGHHHH

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend a good CCG while waiting for Heathstone release? I didn't care that much for Solforge. Duels of the Planeswalkers can be good but MTG play is dreadfully slow with all of these timers, phases, blocking etc (it felt even slower after watching a bunch of Hearthstone vids!). Anyone got one they love to play, either cheap or (preferably) free? (Looking into Duels of Champions after the above post, but not quite feeling it from the videos. I'll still give it a shot though).

Card Hunter is the only other good thing going on right now, but that goes beyond just cards. It's free though, so you should check it out.

I just got an email from Blizzard!

It's them asking me to re-subscribe to WoW. AGAIN. That two times in as many days that Blizz has done that to me, with the exact same email, even!

Not cool, Blizz. We used to be friends.

:O

Sounds like an unnecessary change, but I'll take it!

A lot of people seem to have gotten confused about this. This change reduces the effect of the Pint-Sized Summoner, not its own summoning cost. In other words, it reduces the cost of the first minion you summon each turn by 1, not 2 as previously.

Maybe that's what you meant, but I've seen several people misunderstand the patch note.

EDIT: And I see you figured that out. I will leave this as a warning to others.

Warlock changes lmao. 90% of their minion remains to be utterly useless *bravo blizz*.
One of the worst class when it comes to spells, and THE worst class when it comes to minions. Only the hero power makes warlock remotely viable.

I'm most excited about being able to open a bunch of packs tonight. However, I'm sad that I know I won't get lucky enough to get a golden Onyxia in my first pack again :(

Game is hurting bad man.

Grief.exe telling Northernlion like it is on his top rated YouTube comment:
Northern. One thing I have noticed while watching you is you treat Arena like Constructed in a lot of ways and you cannot do this. Since you can only pick 30 cards in Arena and they are all random, you cannot count on some synergies coming out.

So loading your deck with Shadowsteps and Saps is not going to be very useful since you can't count on the accompanying synergies showing up in your deck later on.

I would recommend picking powerful cards over synergy.

I seriously think that I only got a beta pass because I recently quit WoW for college.

Blizzard knew they could squeeze more money from me, so they sent me a beta.

dear blizzard,

you can send me a beta key too

i've unsubbed from wow.
im pretty gud at card games
i have money

thx man

I played that for a bit and iI think it's pretty bad. Their client especially is shitty.

From what gameplay I've seen on youtube, Duel of Champions is a smarter game than Hearthstone. What I love the most is that they have playable app for iOS devices; really hope blizz will do the same thing when Hearthstone is out.

From what I've played, I would agree, but I'm not actually fond of either.

Hearthstone up! Starting Play mode with my Shaman deck, you can unlock classes by beating them on Ladder now, so that's cool!

Having to do the tutorial and unlock everything again such a pain. It's cool that you can unlock by playing ranked but everyone is mage because they haven't unlocked anything yet lol.

Reading the patch notes with their anemic changes for warlock and shaman reminds me of Vanilla WoW.

Warlock seemed like the third weakest class after warr and priest to me. Don't see them faring much better now. Just the opposite if anything. Can't see much need for shaman changes though.

Warlocks have really good rush deck synergy. If you play them any other way then you're probably gonna have a bad time.

Awww, you only get gold back if you spent real money apparently? I mean, I sort of understand that but I was hoping to get any reward gold I'd spent on packs back.

Not really. You get some gold playing normal or ranked games, and completing the quests the game gives you (like 40g to win 5 games with a rogue or sth).

If you pop the 150 to play in arena, no matter the result you are guaranteed a booster pack (which normally is 100), so you are only at risk of completely losing 50g. But they increased the chances of getting gold depending on your result. Technically you never have to pay money to consistently play arena, you just have to be good at it in order to consistently get 6-7 wins and turn a profit or break even.

Edit: I just realized what you actually asked. I don't know about that :/

4500 gold is equal to 45 pack of cards or 30 arenas. That's a lot more than 22 bucks.

Well, I only bought 15 packs when I first got the game, so that's 20 bucks, also about 1500 gold? So I guess it's somewhere between 50-60 dollars.

My math still might be terrible, but it's not as bad as I thought.

Opened 5 packs, got nothing ;)

Oh well, I'm digging the game again since wipe. Priest decks (which I preferred from the beginning anyways) got a WONDERFUL boost in Shadow Word: Death. I was already happy with my power card wipes (IE Mind Control) but the addition means I can pack 4=6 "lol your card dead" instead of 2-4.

I do miss fade though. I hope fade comes back as an expert card... it was a corner stone of my "turtle and burn" deck before wipe.
