They brought the time you need for 1 booster pack down from 40 hours straight on average, to 12 hours (excluding daily quests). That's a big improvement. Would have liked if it was 1g per loss and 3-5g per win tho. Add in some streak bonuses like 3 wins in a row = 10g. 5 wins = 25g etc and you'd be set for roughly 8 hours.

I want to play this. D: Never played a card game before an have been teetering on buying Magic 2014, but I love the Warcraft Universe and it's F2P so it's pretty much all I'm waiting for.... Damn it Blizzard, send me a key!

The updates they're adding in via the patch are extremely impressive. I'm a fan of the faster gold gaining as well as the balancing out of the classes. Its a bit saddening, knowing the Rogue is going to get nerfed, but it's kinda OP, so it makes sense.

Hopefully, they'll leave the Hunter be. :P

Well, it is Tuesday tomorrow.

Curious, does anyone have any of the golden heroes? I was looking over at HearthPwned to see if they had patch notes or anything, and apparently at level 50 you get a golden hero and I was curious as to what it looked like.

ugh 9-1 in arena and I got 150 gold, shitloads of dust, pack and a golden card I already had

i-its not like I wanted gold anyway, b-baka!

I long for this patch to arrive

So excited for it. I feel I've learned so much from watching streams/Biscuit doing his series for it, that when I go into the game I'll probably be doing very well. I love games like this.

Biscuit is fun to watch, but he's terrible at the game lol.

I watch Kripp or trump to actually learn good strategies

Patch sounds good, can't wait. I can't believe how much time I've been sinking into this game.

Bunch of blue posts just went up within the last hour, all to do with the maintenance planed for tomorrow

We will be performing scheduled maintenance beginning on Tuesday, October 1, at 5:00 AM PDT and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. While related, this maintenance is not for the upcoming closed beta patch.

I love card games and wrote this off the first time I saw it... but the incredible popularity it has is making me really curious.

Hopefully this means lots of invites soon. As far as I understand it part of the maintenance was the move to different servers that can handle more people.

Is this real life?

Here are those aforementioned 'whales' you hear of whenever developers discuss monetiztion of F2P games. The vast majority play entirely for free, while the very few actually fund development.

I hope these guys actually have the disposable income to back up these kind of purchases, and not just putting the debt on a credit card to worry about later. I have a feeling that they don't since this doesn't seem like a very well informed purchase.

Is it bad that I'm going over HearthStone patch notes just as rigorous as WoW patch notes when I used to play?

I went over them pretty rigorously as well!

I'm excited to actually get in this beta and see the changes for myself. I feel like I already understand many of the intricacies of this game from watching so much Twitch and Youtube streams.

Keep your fingers crossed for those Opt-ins!

I've been playing WoW for about 9 years and flagged my account for all their beta tests for all their games and haven't gotten into a single one of them.
They've commented about this loyalty type thing, saying they would like to reward long-term players with things like beta but they've still done nothing.

Don't need to hook someone who is already hooked on your products. In typical drug dealer fashion, the first one is free and be sure to tell all your friends about it...

Now if you were someone who hops franchises and hits up all kinds of betas and does not stick to one product for 5+ years (entire generation basically) then they would probably want that person in more for various reasons.

Really digging the warrior buffs

Frothing berserker and Cruel taskmaster is a very fun combo, and now they're both buffed!

I dont think the changes made to warlocks Shitlord card is gonna make me want to play it, 5 self damage is still too high of a risk for this "CC Magnet"

Yolord can survive more stuff now but I would still only use it in arena.

Warrior looks really improved. Excited because that's what I play in constructed unless I'm trying new stuff.

Yup, whales are crazy. I have no problem putting some money into a F2P games but I would never put in more than into a full price title.

Baby steps I guess. I've grown so desperate I considered signing up for sms protection thinking it might improve my chances of getting into the beta.

That's what Blizzard wants. Next thing you know, they will text you saying, "Psst....wanna Hearth my Stone?"

I got one yesterday telling me to resubscribe to WoW. They're taking me on a roller-coaster of emotion.

GAF is taking me a roller-coaster of emotion. Everytime I see this thread bumped I think there is another wave of invites going out. Ugggggh

Hopefully Blizz caves to pressure from other online TCGs going live and drops thousands and thousands of beta invites (or even better, open beta).

I was just glancing though the patch notes and stumbled across this:

"The “farming” area of the Pandaria board will now allow you to spawn three radishes. "

...what? I feel like I've been following this game pretty closely, but what in the world does that mean? You can spawn radishes?

You could actually grow different types of plants in the farming area earlier, I'm not sure what that specific line references.

One of the boards you play on is Pandaria. You can click on the side stuff to cause little interactions.

The different game boards allow you to do little things like the catapult or the windows of one of the buildings. It's just a little thing to mess with while waiting for your turn.

Ah, ok. I thought there were gameplay systems that I wasn't aware of.

Gonna be spending all my refunded gold on Arena now that i've got a lot of constructed experience. I think can do well now because I was pretty bad when I first started.

The problem with Arena, in its current form, is you only get to pick 30 cards, making it difficult to pick for synergies. What if you don't get the synergies you need?

That means gameplay boils down to people just picking the best possible cards in the game, instead of focusing on interesting synergies that make the class interesting.

What I am getting at is be careful translating the constructed experience over to Arena, you may pick yourself a horrible deck. I see Total Biscuit do it all the time when I am watching him play his Arena games, and it is why he rarely gets over 3 wins.
