I feel like I don't get the joke.Woes of Hearthstone
it's on the front page of reddit/hearthstone if you guys didn't see it
Zeroth isn't really convincing anyone that mages aren't powerful try as he might.
I've spent like 16 dollars of my existing blizzard bucks on this game. I feel like I should stop playing it because the grind isn't really enjoyable anymore. One bad arena run and you feel like you've been dropped into poverty.
Wait.. Hearthstone has drafting? Where and how do i do this?you need pretty thick skin to play any TCG
even thicker if youre going to draft.

I've spent $6 and I have over 500 games played in arena. The only grind in the game is getting every class to 10. If the game isn't enjoyable after that, play something else.
Take a break and let the quests build up if you are in poverty.
Everyone gets out rnged sometimes even with good decks. It evens out though. Skill wins out in the long run.
I've just got 5 gold for 4 wins ...
Wtf Blizzard? This is Your way of making arena rewards better? ;\
At least i got 260 for 8 wins, but it was like that before wipe patch.
Seriously, idea that You put pack and 50 gold as an entrance fee should be implemented.
Have blizz said when this goes open beta? I want to try it![]()

So last night I played some practice games to unlock the basic priest cards. Went into ranked and...

I never was able to pull off so much damage with rogue or mage...
One silence though, and you're toast. It's a high-risk, high-reward combo.
Finally, one last interesting tidbit is that all of Android (tablet and phone) is slated for the second half of next year, meaning that the iPad version will be the only mobile version for quite awhile.
They did say the iPad version was mid 2014 as well as the Andriod and iPhone right?
TouchArcade seem to think it's sooner
This quote suggests the iPad version is coming sooner, are they just guessing or did I miss an announcement?
Not that high risk if you can attack on the turn you double the health twiceI always kill those things immediately when they're summoned.
That's correct, iPad coming at or shortly after launch (early next year), with phone versions coming late next year.
Definitely learned my lesson for drafting too many high mana cards in my priest run last night. Not like I had a choice though, I ended up with 7 or 8 6+ cards, but my options were only the big guys it seemed. It was a choice between a 5 mana, 8 mana, or 7 mana card repeatedly. Wound up with 4 minions under 5 mana, I was yelling at my computer to give me more cheap minions lol. 1-3.... Was a sad day, 5g for that 150 cost, cool stuff. Gotta love RNG, looking back on it the only thing I really could have done is maybe grab a few mind blasts to keep the mana lower, but there was still a severe lack of low minions.
The problem is also compounded by constructed not being very rewarding and is much more expensive to play than arena. When you get daily quests that asks you to win with classes you don't have much unlocked cards of, you're pretty much hoping your opponent's deck sucks more than yours. Even if you get 3-3, it's not impossible that you get 0 gold in your winnings. So yes, it sucks. Where do you get the 500 games statistic from anyway?
This is exactly my problem with arena and why I call it RNG mania. I have played several arenas today. Every time I was forced into high mana cards due to them beeing only that. I realise alot of people in here win all the time and they will keep telling me that its a L2P issue. I would believe that if the draws where not so shitty.
To anyone complaining about any element of Hearthstone - you need to remember that this is a free game.
That doesn't mean it is above criticism or is worth your time just because it's free. But it DOES mean that Blizzard doesn't owe you anything. They don't owe you more free gold, or more Arena rewards, or more cards in the free basic set.
Again, Blizzard doesn't owe you anything.
F2P game models have lots and lots of problems. I've written about this. But one advantage of freemium is that the developer only makes money when people are actually playing the game. So if Arena wasn't tuned right, if low rewards for 3-3 runs turned people away, if the mode was unpopular... Blizzard would be forced to re-tune it.
So if some specific element of the game turns you away, just stop participating.

Which ones are you having trouble with?I think daily quests are going to make me uninstall this game. I'm just not having fun grinding out that gold.
Which ones are you having trouble with?
Most of them come naturally through playing or are designed to get you to play classes you don't normally play.Trouble? None. They are just not fun. And I'm not playing enough to shrug it off.
I pay money to play Arena, and because their servers are disconnecting AND they don't have a grace period for reconnects, I am directly losing money I've invested in the game.
I feel like I'm allowed to complain about that. Improper implementation of a feature to prevent people from losing money. If you put money-based features in a beta, make sure it at least works.
You're losing money in a beta that will be given back to you once it goes live, so it's not that bad...
That's the purpose of a beta, right?
In the event of a wipe, they'll refund you (in the gold equiv) your paid-for packs/arena.Hold on, Blizzard will give back any money spent on beta?

Oh another thing about my current Arena run:
Had a Mad Bomber that procced for 3 damage on my hero when it had a enemy 2/1 and the other hero to choose from. -_-
Pretty sure there's only an 11% chance of that occurring.
Indeed, but the way that post was worded sounded like since this is a beta, they would give back any money spent on it after the game goes live, which confused me.
That's what I meant, that you'd get any money spent on the beta back when it's done. At least, that's how I understood it.

Oh btw - if you don't log on, Daily quests deffo roll over - didn't check if there as a maximum
Your point is contradictory. The best way for users to express what aspects of a free to play game are offputting is to complain in the hopes that they are changed. Blizzard is clearly paying attention to the community, which is why they are balancing cards based on what is most vocally being complained about and they upped the gold gains already. The free to play system in Hearthstone is still pretty busted though and actively dissuades people from playing the game. There should always be a path for progression, but right now players can only progress with dailies. As such I can log on for the day, clear out my daily quest in maybe five minutes, and then be left questioning if I should continue to play because I will not be rewarded. To anyone complaining about any element of Hearthstone - you need to remember that this is a free game.

none of the complaints arent even formed on the basis that Blizzard owes anybody anything. To anyone complaining about any element of Hearthstone - you need to remember that this is a free game.

Sometimes they take a long time. Like playing a bunch of five cost cards. Other times I'll get "win two games with warrior" and scrape the two wins up almost instantaneously. People are pretty willing to surrender early in constructed play once it begins to look like an uphill battle. How are you clearing out a daily quest in 5 minutes?![]()
If you get "play a bunch of 5 cost cards", best way is to just wait for another quest and tag team it in the course of a natural play exp in Arena or normal mode.Sometimes they take a long time.
