Helldivers |OT| Everybody Fights, Nobody Quits.

Can we get your opinions on performance and stuff? Is it as bad as people have been saying?

Early days. I'm yet to play online with anyone, and I won't say the slower, more measured pace of the game is being misconstrued as wonky or borked...it seems like a more brutal Killzone: Liberation to me.

I dig it. We'll see how the performance takes a hit when with a squad. And then, we'll see what patching does. Otherwise, yeah, a touch hefty load times, not the prettiest game, but a solid effort nonetheless.

Perhaps the alarmist thread about warning people away from the Vita version was a touch unwarranted, but who am I to say?! Especially without having played multi yet.

I know this game is a shoot em up and i dont mind that, but i am in the mood for a strategic game (kinda like tower defense)

Do you think this game will satisfy that need of strategy? I dont really see much strategy/tower defense games on PS4

Yea, you can spawn turrets, bombs, etc.

I added a couple people from that posted their PSN's and accepted everybody. I'm not gonna really dig in til later tho.

Okay, just did a four player co-op session with random folk on Vita. Ran fine. Didn't really see a framerate drop! Felt good and tactical. Seems like people really get a feel for teamwork right off the bat, given the lethality of everything.

Could be a the map, could be the enemies, could be a number of things...but it ran smooth and felt responsive. Sky is falling, perhaps? Either way, time will tell.

Is there an option to turn off the back touchpad functionality?

WELP. Gonna buy in. I have seen enough videos that don't seem to drop frames that a GAFFER confirming it seems like good enough.

No, but I guess that'll get patched in. I honestly don't mind it, but they need to rationalise the functionality. Grenades should be switched to a face button. It's a little too awkward to use them effectively when they're thrown via a swipe on the touch pad. Reload is fine. Put the dive action on a swipe. Makes much more sense.

I'm just some shmoe, I might have gotten lucky with my random pals' net connections. Will have to play more. I'm sure you'll dig it, though. It's great to have this game on the go, too.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

Good games with GAFDivers! It was fun! Taking on Level 4 missions was tough at first, but the last couple of them went pretty smoothly.

It was a fun time! It went better when we learned to avoid friendly fire from turrets and spam Dive Bombs and Strafing Run strategems when the enemy were too many.

Stunt of the day goes to ChanMan (Rammel29) who as the lone survivor called down the Reinforce strategem to revive famicom and I, only for us to immediately die to a grenade he had accidentally thrown at our drop pods. :)

I expected a lot more posts about this game here, I wonder if the rumor of it being on PS+ this month hurt sales

Let's face it, it'll probably be on a PS Plus lineup in the coming months. I'll be waiting for it to become free so I won't get burned like the other times I've bought indie games for the PS4.

Couldn't get the back touch on the Vita to reload during the tutorial, just kept tossing grenades. I'm probably doing it wrong but I tried swiping it in different ways and always just threw a grenade. PS4 it is!

Oh man, that was hilarious! And our last mission, when three of us were down and the bugs chased the lone survivor across the map. And he was able to call us back in! It's moments like these that truly make the game.

So... I know this just came out but: based on what you have played, does it seem like it's worth it to play with ONE other friend?

Because me and one of my best friends "gaming" friends are looking for something to play online and this sounds fun. And while we do have other people that can join most of them don't play that often so we are looking for something that can be fully enjoyed even if it's just 2 players. Unlike, say, Destiny where weekly stuff becomes harder with 1 guy missing and raids don't even have matchmaking

Will buy later, when I get home from work.

Will add the PSN IDs posted, but if you want to add me, my PSN ID is the same as my GAF account: ron_bato

Hm...I made the OT and I don't even know if I'm getting the game. XD
