The PS3 really does look out of place in that mix.
That screw is adorable. Your move, Microsoft.
It's where the sticker goes with all the model info and all the government ratings:

If i lose or strip that screw when I switch hard drives I'm going to be so disappointed in myself.
I believe they've already tried to screw their customers.
So HDDs are still notebook-sized? I think 1TB is as high as those suckers go.
Just let us plug a USB storage Sony!

Actually 2TB
It's only about physical height. Here's a list that will stay up to date when new products come out:I would really appreciate someone creating a list of compatible (and tested) 1TB 2.5" SSHDs.
I want to buy one to install straight away.
There's really only the HGST 5K1500. Currently available Toshiba and WD drives >= 1.5TB are still 12.5 or even 15mm high. There are 1.5TB standard size drives now. 9.5mm

There are at least 2 manufacturers now.
It's 1.5, the 2TB drives are thicker than a standard laptop drive.
It might be marked area for serial number sticker to stick on.

Gotcha ThanksThat's for the FCC sticker thingamagig, and the rubber foot below it is for horizontal placement of the console so it doesn't move.
Actually 2TB
2TB 2.5" drives are taller than standard-sized 9.5mm high drives. Don't know if they'll fit in the PS4, they don't fit into the PS3.
60 gig has Ps1 and ps2 inside...
You know the PS4 looks very slim

The shadow on the hard drive in this picture makes it look like there's a little extra clearance, so there is hope that non-standard-height drives will fit.
Look at that family:

First thing that came to mind. Love the design of the screw, but don't be an easy strip POS like PS Phat :/

I hate the fact that in the stand position the ps4 vents will be the first thing you see.
Nice screws.

628$ for a 1TB SSD, $330 for a 500 GB? Guys you should just pay me that money and I'll come over to your house and boot your games up a few seconds before you're ready to play them.

Not if you put it the right way around. That picture is of the back of the console.

Ahh of course. How silly.
It does look like there is an extra few mm there. Whether it is enough however is another issue.

I really liked the slim. Good amount of matte to gloss surfaces. If they made a flat version, it would be my favorite console design to date.
