According to the posters on here Sony only forks over cash for interactive movies.
Cause y'know, Death Stranding was so movie like... other than the 200hrs of gameplay it wasn't.
And Demon's Souls... hell, it's not even a game! You just kick back with a beer and watch the story.
Yeah, an you forgot to mention Demon's Souls is also very bad, and that is the reason of why it has a 92 in Metacritic.
That's a lot of third-person adventure games
Well, most of the games that Sony publishes aren't adventure games. And many of them are 1st person. Go and check the amount of VR games they published, or the amount of casual/family party games they published for stuff like PlayLink in PS4. Sony publishes not only more games, but also a wider range of genres and game types, and also a higher % of new IPs, than other big publishers like Nintendo or Microsoft. And looking at the amount of awards they receive every year and seeing them as one of the companies with best Metacritic, their quality must be pretty good too.
I hope Hermen isn't gonna enter into the Phil spencer blabla game, with each week stating "we are doing..." "we are going to..." "we are planning to..." ect, it's cool to communicate time to time but i don't want hermen or Jim to become a Phil 2.0 or Aaron 2.0 either, just let the games speaks, that's what matters and what always been.
Unlike the MS folks Hermen didn't promise their stuff will improve in the future.
In this or other recent interviews Hermen basically said they will continue doing the same they have been doing until now: to continue releasing way more games than Nintendo or Microsoft, with a way higher % of new IPs than them and of a way more diverse range of genres and game types than them.
It's a big difference. One promises stuff for the future that we still don't have, the other one says that will continue with the same current/recent strategy we already see.
Yeah, it was the first party that I was having issues with. I can easily see 25 titles if they are including 3rd party lifetime exclusives.
I honestly doubt this is completely true. Sony only has around 12 studios and we still have like last of us multiplayer, god of war, gt, last of us remakes, and mlb still being worked on so how does this work.
The "MORE THAN" 25 titles under development statement only include first party exclusives (some developed internally, some developed externally as 2nd party). Only with the internal teams we know they have (we know several of their internal studios are working in at least 2 or 3 games at the same time) plus 2nd party from the usual suspects we know there are more than 25 games under development for PS5 (which includes PSVR2 and casual/family party games like the PlayLink ones), probably even more than 30. And this is without considering recent/current efforts to increase their 2nd party output and 1st party headcount.
This doesn't include 3rd party exclusives (which means, timed or not, console or full, crossgen or not, exclusive games published by companies that aren't Sony), either AAA (like Final Fantasy XVI, FFVIIR Ep 2, Guilty Gear Strive, etc) or indie (Kena, Sifu, Stray, Jett, etc). They also mentioned to be increasing their 3rd party exclusive lineup.
In fact, Jim Ryan said PS5 will have more exclusives than any other previous PlayStation.
Guerrilla have had a second team making a game since 2019.
The game director they hired to lead was formerly the game director of Rainbow Six Siege, and also worked on Killzone 2, Watchdogs 2, old Splinter Cell, etc.
They had also hired a lead designer from the R6 Siege team.
Who knows what it'll be. Could be a new IP, or Killzone, or something else. Seems obvious its gonna have multiplayer.
A squad based Killzone would be great. 5 vs 5 competitive multiplayer or 1-5 player co-op story campaign. Stuff learnt from Killzone, Horizon and Rainbow 6.
