Hitman 6 launching with seven missions as part "Season One"?

7 missions of the same size of the Paris level we already seen ? That's huge already ! Blood Money only had 10 "open" missions, and some of these were pretty small and/or didn't have many approach.

Need to know how the content will roll post-launch, one mission each month seems fine to me, one every three month won't.

Uh oh. I hope it matches the Amazon listing...

Some people here aren't happy with seven missions. Any less would be much worse for the reception of the game.

I don't think they'd have a straight up wrong listing on amazon. My guess is they want to clarify how many missions there will be total (you get 7 now, but by the time we're done you'll have 10 or something like that).

It does seem weird for a retailer to put up a specification like that without any evidence to support it, especially on a game that is already being stingy with the details.

Release dates are always guessed at, but I've never seen them treat feature summaries like that.

IO are doing a public presentation of Hitman at Pax Prime tomorrow, so hopefully we'll hear something this weekend. It would fit in with the 'few weeks' they told us it would take to hear more after Gamescom.

My personal guess is they'll have a better wording on this to upset people less, like "7 environments, 21 contracts, 54 secondary targets" or something like that.

Apparently Square-Enix gave this information to Amazon. So either Square fucked up, or that people might think 7 missions = 7 targets. Of the two levels we know of in terms of information, there is potentially
5
targets to deal with.

PAX Prime is my guess, also.

Possibly. I'm thinking it'll be something along the lines of 7 missions with one or two "story mode" targets each, then a bunch of secondary contracts that you can replay the level to hit, along with contracts mode.

I can see this game being 7 maps on release + 7 maps released over the next year. I think Blood Money had a similar amount.

Blood Money had 13 levels, but the first and last level don't really count. The first level is a tutorial and the last level is an epilogue.

Well that's that. Hitman will be at PAX this weekend so we'll probably know more then.

edit: beaten. I'm late as usual lol

Honestly, it feels like the big publisher version of early access. That doesn't sit great with me.

That said, 7 (probably 6 cause there's probably a tutorial shit one) good hitman levels is not remotely the same as most games in the industry, that's a decent sized game.

No information on the Beta, and that was all in the Alpha leak..):

At least the art shots they has showed off a new location. Was that Italy?

I watched a couple guys on twitch/youtube play the alpha and it looked pretty awesome but I honestly have way too much on my plate/backlog to care for it one way or the other right now.

I'll probably end up grabbing it on a steam sale.

Looking pretty good so far. Last Hitman game that I played was Blood Money. If this turns out to be more of that, I will be all over it.

Opposite for me. If the reviews look good this is the first non-Nintendo $60 game I'll buy day one in a long time

I get constantly reminded by Telltale how terrible this "bits and pieces" system is. I have waited almost 8 weeks for the final episode of Game of Thrones. Tales from the Borderlands was released last year, and I have no clue when they will release the final episode.

Square Enix haven't exactly done a much better job with Life is Strange.

I'm the guy who preordered this as soon as it announced, but I'm growing increasingly frustrated and concerned with the fact that IOI has said that they plan on correcting an "inaccurate" listing like three weeks ago, we're less than 3 months before release, and we STILL don't know how many levels the game's going to ship with. I don't think we're running into another absolution problem because we've seen what the new game is capable of, but I'm just really not liking the lack of communication and constant dodging of what is arguably the most important issue: what are we getting on launch?

They probably don't know yet. Deciding on what is done enough for season one and which ones need to be reworked and pushed to season 2. That's my take anyways.

Early adopters are incentivised with time-exclusive targets. Many of the levels will be host to targets brought into them that you have only one chance to kill. You will have 48 hours to find them and plan your hit. If they escape, they're gone for good.

PS4 gets six exclusive hits like this, if I recall. They currently have no plans on offering these hits in the physical release.

Gimmicks don't incentivize. And thats some gimmicky shit, imo.
