i saw like 1 episode of dbz back in the late 90s when it was popular (again?) and it was just a bunch of standing around staring and grunting at each other?


The only type of anime I could stand were the movie ones. Series are just too long and drawn out.

Saiya-jin just means "From Saiya". Likely that was the name of the planet they were from before they settled on Planet Vegeta. Hell, Saiyan isn't that bad of a translation to english when you look at it, America-jin -> American.

One of the best moments of the whole series.

And thats the best movie too.

mmm, I think the Trunks finds Gohan scene could have been done better. Getting rid of that dumb music for a start, and a flash of gold as he mourns, that'd have been cool.

Also, I agree that they handled the side characters absolutely atrociously. Tien vs Majin Buu was one of the worst fights in the history of fiction.

Well, go blame Japan really. Demographics suck, as it is the one responsible for doing shit like Gohan suddenly not being the focus in the later part of DBZ.
