vegeta on earth: 18,000
vegeta after getting beat up on earth: 24,000
vegeta after getting beat up by zarbon: 30,000
vegeta after getting beat up by recoome: 250,000 (what the fuck)
vegeta after getting a hole in his stomach: even stronger than piccolo who was over 1,000,000

he didn't even train that whole time, it was like 2 months

bull fucking shit

LOL! its funny how some sites supposedly had power readings after the scouters were gone... but GT really fucked things up for me... series should be very well ignored

PROOF GOKU IS STRONGER

At the end of Movie 11, King Kai tells Broly that is causing havoc in Hell, and Goku must stop him.

In Movie 12, Goku says Fat Jamenba is the only person besides Buu to force him to go SSj3. Implying that Fat Jamenba is a stronger opponent than Broly.

Goku > Fat Jamenba > Broly.

Don't you get it, you fool!? Goku had extra time and training/damage to reach SSJ3. You can't fucking say "Oh, Goku totally got stronger later in his life, if only Broly had come around like 10 years later Goku would have stomped him."

That's not how it works. In the original Broly movie, Broly was stronger than Goku. Fact. Had he had the chance to develop along with Goku he would have gotten to SSJ3 first and surpassed Goku at every corner. Broly has a different type of super saiyan form unheard of in the DBZ universe except to him!

Broly's power is fucking maximum.

This thread reminds me: how did DBZ Kai turn out? If I ever were to watch the series again, I think it would have to be an abridged version...

Kai is my preferred way to watch the show now. The fight with Freeza is still ridiculously long even in this format though.

Unless you enjoyed Gohan's High School adventures Gohan is pretty meh.

The high school stuff was unfortunately the most interesting thing Gohan did in the entire Buu saga.

The end of the Broly movie was so fucking dumb. He just gets punches in the gut. I can only assume that works because he got stabbed there as a child. If that's true they could have at least cut to that scene as he was getting punched or something.

Isn't Goku immortal at the end of GT?

If by immortal, you mean dead - yes.

I tried to watch GT but it really just bore me. People who complain about the Z dub should see what they did to GT.

Funimation's GT dub is better than their Z dub assuming you get the Green Bricks and put the Japanese score on. It's better acted (because by the time GT was recorded the voice actors/sound engineers/people of the street had gone through enough growing pains recording Z), and has a considerably more accurate script. It still takes liberties but no where to the degree Z did. The biggest mistake the GT dub has is the Don Para Bro's rap because that shit ain't changing with a BGM switch.

Kai is like something present day Nintendo would make. It's less rough around the edges, but loses a bit of something for doing so, and while it does a lot of things right, you just can't shake the feeling it's a poorly done cash-in on a well known name.

I haven't seen Kai entirely, and I probably never will. The clusterfuck that is the music, and the fact it cut out pre-Boo means it's really worthless to me. It's something that shouldn't exist.

And now the REAL fight begins!

That clip was the best part of me and Devo's video in the OP. The stomach punch was one of the worst dragonball z scenes i've ever seen, only eclipsed by the 15 second zoom in on Broly's eye that happened earlier in the same movie.

We were high as fuck watching that shit and I think I rolled right off the bed and left the room for several minutes. I lost my shit.

I think 9 would be my favorite movie. I know a lot of people say that now though. The movies I enjoyed the ones I used to like for one shots of things I've been dying to see in a movie. Goku turning SS in a movie or movie where Gogeta was shown.

If I had to pick a most disappointing movie it'd be movie 12. The 10 seconds of Gogeta is a part of it but what I hate the most is how they wasted potential on having more villains comeback. We see Freiza say maybe 2 lines then everyone scatters. Have Goten and Trunks fight all of them instead of Hitler.

I've never bothered with any of the movies for this reason. Even as a little kid I didn't fucks with non-canon shit.
Most of them were actually pretty good, but there's simply no reason to find any logical consistency between them and the rest of the continuity. It just doesn't fit.

Devo tried to make me watch Fusion Reborn (movie 12 I think) and I sat there patiently waiting for cool stuff to happen. 45 minutes later I realized I was watching candy and rainbows and gumdrops and I shut if off prematurely. I was high as fuck off marijuana weed so it took me awhile to realize what the fuck I was watching.

How much did you guys like Debora? He looked really cool and his voice actor was really good in the American version.

His name really should be "Dabra" in the dub. It's a pun based on "Abracadabra", which fits the mystical theme of the Boo arc with "Bibiddi Babiddi Boo", and such.

Movie 12 is best movie.

Janemba >>>>> that bum Broly.

True facts. We know almost nothing about Janemba yet he is a better character than a guy who got 3 (okay, really 2) movies.

Since we're discussing this Dragonball garbage anyway, can someone explain to me how Piccolo got strong enough to go head to head against stage 2 Freeza? (whose power level was over a MILLION?)

In the manga, I remember reading that Nail said that if Piccolo fused with him, his power would double. But that would mean Piccolo was already at ~500,000 when he met him.

Seriously, what the fuck? This is probably the worst, unexplained power level inconsistency in the whole series.

Also, Vegeta was at 18,000 when he fought Goku on Earth. After having almost every bone in his body broken and really being close to death, his power level only jumps a mere 33% (24,000)? Whereas right after he got healed from the fight with Recoome, his power level jumps to at LEAST 250k? Again, what the fuck?

I've only seen that part of the show in Japanese, but pretty much everything with Dabura is good. He's one of the better parts of the Buu saga.

Power levels are bullshit. Don't worry too much about it.

The last time I actually cared about power levels I was 8 years old. It was a metric that was supposed to add scale to the battles, but eventually got out of hand to near parody. It also doesn't help that Toriyama never really gave a shit, and drew whatever came to him.

That's because Goku and the other main Saiyans were all voiced by a 70 year old woman.

Their voices were definitely out of place in the Japanese version. People say the US dub is bad all the time, but I would definitely take that over 70 year old woman Goku.

I knew it sounded like an old asian lady, I dont get how anyone would think that sounded good.

Yes.

This thread reminds me: how did DBZ Kai turn out? If I ever were to watch the series again, I think it would have to be an abridged version...

I watched like the first 10 eps, they traced over parts of the show in Flash, and it looks like horrendous dog shit and I refused to watch anymore of it.

Plus they stopped after Cell saga, which means they didnt do the whole show, which means if you watch Kai you cannot see the entire series.

Yeah, Kai is pretty horrendous. I'd rather watch original DB.
How so? Other than adding the fug animation in some spots I didnt hate it. Actually I thought it highlighted some bad parts of the series that I didn't notice otherwise when I was younger. Specifically the difference in animators they had and the good animation day vs. a bad one.

Also the new dub is better than the first dub. Though I heard a line that made me cringe today. Bulma says "play-by-play commentary fail, guys".

Dunno, feels like the retouch is awkward.

Also you keep changing your avatar to random GAF users. You might end up getting a buff Agumon if you keep doing that.

The fug animation killed it for me, sorry.

Plus they didnt do the whole show, I despise half-assed things.

Like putting a movie series on Bluray but leaving out the shitty 4th movie no one likes, I dont care, its part of the series and I want a complete set.

Or like they did that Silent Hill collection that only had 2 and 3 in it, its stupid, I hate things like that.

Takes like three episodes for stuff to happen too :lol

Was an alright show back when I was younger. Now I probably wouldn't be able to sit through it.

I watched all of the original dragonball that I could bother with without fast forwarding. Honestly what struck me most about the original Dragonball versus the following Dragonball Z was that they are like two totally different shows almost. The tone and everything of Dragonball is quite different. Very easy to see why some can like one and not the other.

Z really ramped up the "A new challenger approaches" shit to an insane degree over Dragonball.

Dragonball Z is pretty much the perfect show for a teenage boy. All the charging and screaming matches the feeling of being hopped the fuck up on hormones. That's why I'll never talk too much shit about DBZ, regardless of how hard it is to watch now. It has it's place.

At least over here, it was extremely popular with teenage girls too. It's the anime that introduced me to people actually finding attractive a cartoon character (all my girl friends loved Trunk), and C-18 was fucking awesome.
