It's over, period. EA lost their last ace, and that's the end of their next-gen hopes and dreams.

It's not hyperbole, it's not fanboy drivel. It is LITERALLY it for EA. EA has nothing left, nothing they can reveal tomorrow would fix the hole now created. There is no reason left for any one, hardcore or casual, to substantively invest in an EA game. Except if they want to play Battlefront. Which will also be published by Sony at some point.

The age of EA is done.

This sounds horribly familiar. Well done.

This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with how much of a buggy piece of shit it was at launch. More along the lines of EA making false statement to investors.

This was a joke post right? Not actually serious?

Considering how important investors are to EA (they drive every decision) then maybe some good will come from this.

EA and every other publically traded corporation on the planet. This isn't particularly rare or scandalous.

I guess I don't see why a corporation's stock price should plummet if they delay a game. If the revenue is the same or greater, why does it matter? So long as the company is solvent and not bleeding money, let them delay games.

Not that I disagree with this on principle, but that's not really how investment works. If investors put money into something and are guaranteed returns (or projections) by a certain date, companies will do everything they can to make sure they meet those deadlines.

I agree with you that delays aren't always bad for a game, but this isn't a situation unique to game development.

Ugh...Titanfall?

It's a joke post.

It's probably a bit of both. EA saying BF is going to be massive and make lots of money, but then they released a sub-standard product which will not match the information given to shareholders. This investigation is probably going to see who said what and if executives and directors knew what state the game was when they approved its release.

Remember that BF is EA's premier in-house franchise and with this release not only have they failed to meet revenue/sales expectations outlined previously they have also damaged the future earning potential of the series. HHF will be looking to find out if the executives knew the game was borked but still gave the go ahead anyway despite realising the kind of damage it could do to EA/BF.
