Home Integration for Uncharted & Resistance! 2D Uncharted Side Scroll Shooter!

The strangest thing about that is that in an old Home thread an EA employee on the IGN boards was quoted as saying they had a really cool Home space.

Holy crap, I do remember that thread actually. To be fair there's so many subdivisions in EA that I wouldn't be surprised if that guy didn't know there's some killer EA content already in the pipeline.

O M G, MGS4 room anyone?

Just like WoWhawk, you might be able to set up strategies and all that fancy stuff in its own portal!!!

and GTA4 portal???

But seriously, having a war room for Warhawk with strategy table = OMG.

"Using a three-dimensional "sand table" replication of the level, Warhawk players are said to be able to lay out their strategies in a properly scaled space. They'll even be able to place little army men avatars around the map to envision their formations, something we hope they can also do with teeny tiny Warhawk planes, tanks and Jeeps."

These game spaces will be really nice for the fans to just hang out. As long as the trolls keep away. :p

Edit: Virtual 3D trolls. :D

what about a portal portal, you could fall into the game.

also, soul calibur 4 should have enough boobies for everyone amirite?

The trolls won't be in Home because they are waiting for some obscure requirements to be met before they buy a PS3.

Its all awesome,

but after hearing the recent remarks about devs saying they won't have time for this kind of stuff, and seeing it only come out of 1st and 2nd party developers, i hope its not something that'll fizzle out after a while, because it sounds very VERY time consuming for developers.

it all depends on the publisher. get the fact straight people. it's the publisher that pays the developer to do all this.

It's up to the publisher to determine if the money spent is worth it in returned investment

Wow, ive never really been that excited about home until now. These features sound awesome and really makes you think what is possible and what could be coming next.

according to who?

I mean that all sounds neat, but what's the point of putting it in Home? Why not just put this stuff in the actual game?

-Because the developers can constantly change it without having to patch the game itself every time they want to add something to the Home room.

-Because if done properly, the dynamic content adds value and a sense of community between the gamers and the development studio.

-Because they can get people who don't have the game interested in buying it.

-Because they can strategically place audio/video things in the Home space for the games that can be constantly updated to reflect new features, hype new products or DLC.

-Other community building features that we haven't even thought of yet, added on-the-fly.

this is so cool, I always think home space as some kind of virtual website where you use 3d avatar for immersion. I hope in the future, we get homespace for games that haven't been released yet. like a website, have some countdown, monitor showing trailers and stuff. cool stuff

1 thing I want to know, I've heard that home is going to divide players to several some kind of servers to avoid overcrowding the home space. does that mean anyone can play the arcade anytime they want, or there will be time where you have to line up for a chance to play it. I mean, I'm sure the 2d sidescroller will be very popular, and what if they only have like 3 or 5 arcade cabinet there. and I'm sure there will be more than 5 people who want to try that

anyway cool stuff, just haven't catch up with a lot of home stuff

its time consuming but remember they can use home to advertize there game so its a option

I think that was one EA developer wondering how they could make money on it, surprise surprise.

I think Sony is looking to set examples with titles like this, showing them how to increase a game's stickiness, promote it past launch, promote community around it, and embed more revenue generators via the marketplace or arcade games if they want..

I certainly hope third parties jump onboard, because there's massive potential here.

Two rooms I really want to see.

An Eye of Judgement room with games tables set up in the room. You launch the game by wlaking up to a table with someone already there. other people can then watch your game be played out by your avatars.

A Sinstar room set up like a Kareoke bar. Yuor avatar gets up on stage to sing and there could be a big TV screen behind for the live camera feed.

Bu bu bu... This can't be! Some one told me HOME is just a 3d chat room with lots of ads!

bu bu the main reason to get into Home is to get out!!! LULZ @ Sony they dont know gaemz

Seriously though, all these announcements are for Sony exclusive/Second Party Devs. I hope third party devs also take advantage of this awesome feature. I can only imagine what a GTAIV or FFXII room would be like.

That's true.

If these things came out before the game, and the publisher hired a smaller company to create these things to create awareness of the game, I think it would take off.

But it seems like something not all developers wouldn't have their heart in after finishing the game.

But who knows.

Really awesome stuff though.

I like the Warhawk sandbox idea.

Hopefully, some will have time for feature adds like these after they ship. It can certainly breathe some life into a game's buzz after it's been on the shelf for 6 months.

The room it self will be enough advertisement for the game. Come on Tecmo bring DOAVXE2! We need NEED Home integration with that game!

This helps to sell a game:

"Well, the 360 one has achievements, but the PS3 version has the cool Homespace extras......."

fixed.

"Where's my motivation?"

Sounds great.

But what's that about the new Resistance levels ? Buy the Store levels via Home ? Or free levels ? You'll probably need the game to use that ?

YES! That is an awesome idea.

That's is frikkin awesome! Really happy to hear that developers are really exploring the potential of what Home can bring us.
