The dude that hate reading and tutorials is playing this game?I am legitimately surprised that Asmongold plays Homeworld 3.
I can't believe it either. The dude that hate reading and tutorials is playing this game?
The narrative apparently has all the telltale signs, but no confirmation by the devs.
The devs ARE part of the problem too! Look at the quality of games coming out when they are in accordance with SBI..

Holy crap..So in this case I believe they probably didn't use a firm...
Why? Because BBI has been social justice pushers for a very long time, they dont need one, they are the problem. Just play their prior title ship breaker, no consultancy group needed and wildly regarded to have one of the most extreme tonal shifts during early access from a game people liked to this day the forum still begging for a mode that let's play the story mode... with the story removed.

The funniest thing is this was all brought in after they hired Jennifer Scheurle who has just been ejected from NCSoft for what we now know to be abuse.
Blackbird conducting internal investigation in wake of harassment allegations against Jennifer Scheurle | Game World Observer
Blackbird Interactive CEO and founder Rob Cunningham revealed that the studio is investigating if any cases of emotional abuse and manipulation have taken place at the studio. This is in response to the harassment allegations against Jennifer Scheurle, who joined the studio in January 2021.gameworldobserver.com
She was let go after this, but prior they went out of there way to hire someone like that, and have been doing so for the past couple of years. She was a very vocal "I hate white men, white men should die" on social media and they still hired her, thats the type of people they want in their development studio.
Essentially they might as well pivot towards being one of these firms rather than making games. It's what their good at.
Christ, I now remember this lunatic after looking her up and that drama..!Jennifer Scheurle
Yep, and think about how toxic she was when NCSoft ejected her (which when called a layoff, strangely her batch of layoffs at NCSoft was one employee, her) and BBI went out of their way to pick her up. She had just accused and doxxed a white guy to BLM for something he didn't do and been caught and detained for handing out weapons to protestors.Christ, I now remember this lunatic after looking her up and that drama..!
I'd forgotten all that
Yeah, that was awful.
It's always the same kind of people, with the same venomous hair colors and the same buzzwords. These devs and "writers" need to fuck off and find another job.
What a wonderful Web of weirdness. Utterly disgusting behaviour.Yep, and think about how toxic she was when NCSoft ejected her (which when called a layoff, strangely her batch of layoffs at NCSoft was one employee, her) and BBI went out of their way to pick her up. Anyway, it's no mystery Homeworld 3's story sucks, it's been their MO for a long time now.
Where do all these people even come from? When I'm about just walking downtown I see only normal people. But every time someone posts an photo of a western story writer/community manager it's always like out of a dystopian sci-fi movie. It's certainly noteworthy how this industry is attracting these extremes, or maybe it's more having to settle for those extremes due to lack of competition.Christ, I now remember this lunatic after looking her up and that drama..!

what is it going to take for these morons to fucking learn that the vast majority of their revenue comes from sweaty nerds who hate shit like Sweet Baby Inc? But no, they double down and alienate their audience. It’s like they all want their own business to fail or something
Wow. I had bought hardspace when it first entered early access, loved it at the time but there was little to no story. So in this case I believe they probably didn't use a firm...

No review bombs needed, i read some story summaries and checked some videos and it's really basic and crappy. It's highs (if there are any) are lower than the lows of HW1I feel a review bomb in the near Future.....
I'm doneWell I was wrong
Aaaaaaand iv refunded. Didn't enjoy the 3 missions I did play and kept my play time under 2 hours before I made a decision to ditch it or not next week.
Well that's me ditching it now, today.
I'm done
No more new games for me.
I do find it funny that there will be people who put forward the idea that having the DEI department in a game means nothing, but when you look at all of the games that have incorporated it, they're all complete dog shit.
It's just a cacophony of talentless hacks.
Oh my sweet baby summer child..
The devs ARE part of the problem too! Look at the quality of games coming out when they are in accordance with SBI..
The old guard have been given the boot and replaced with wet flannels who can't do their job properly..
Take Homeworld 3, no sub system destruction, why? Probably because they don't know how to do it like the original developers! They're pretenders, they latch onto I.P's, do a shit job, cry when it fails and call the customers ism's
Look at Hollywood, it's exactly the same!
Now, I'm left with a sore bum as I took my eye off the ball and bought this fucking thing
Thankfully it wasn't full price. I went back to the originals with mods after playing 3. I forgot how fun they actually were, when they were made with devs who could do their fucking job properly!
Just switch to games from single devs or small teams - Balatro or Manor Lords are great examples from recent months. They're often very passionate about what they do and they don't have departments reminding them about DEI and all that other crap. Those games can sometimes still be super woke, of course, but it's not because the big publisher ordered the devs to change things around to include some "important" topics.I'm done
No more new games for me.

Aww don't be like that, just yesterday I bought.
And
Now... the last one I want to highlight, because it's SUPER woke, but I respect Midboss because they said "we want to tell our stories" founded their own studios and made them. Their not bad, not bad at all. Also a lot of the gender issues etc make sense in their setting which is the future where the human body is essentially commercialised, no one knows wtf they are, add in memory manipulation on top and yeah, everyone's fucked.
Anyway enough about that, the point I wanted to make is that people with this type of culture can make interesting and engaging games. The issue is that many of them can't, so seem to latch on to existing franchises and fuck them. But there's plenty of good games just released every week, and sometimes SBI involvement won't be enough to fuck over a project completely... we just don't have many examples of it currently.
But Homeworld 3 was just... bad, like one of those bad Starwars Sequels, it had the right look and sounded right, but its a completely different tone, I just couldn't enjoy it.
The first 2064 is the second worst game I have ever played. I have no interest in playing its sequel which I have heard is somehow worse.
Homeworld 3 hurts though. I really wanted to get it, but damn.
Currently playing Animal Well. Amazing game.
What would a Space RTS game need Sweet Baby for?
For me? TLOU2. I would rather have a game that pisses me off than a game that is so boring it literally puts me to sleep more than once.I really want to ask now, what was the worst game?
To make sure their allegories don't make Ferengi? What would a Space RTS game need Sweet Baby for?
You would be surprised. Woke people are like vegans that take offense if you do a barbecue even when you don't invite any of them.Banning people who are asking this question tells you all you need to know, doesn’t it?
I fooking loved that game. Completed it on Xbox game pass, bought it physical on the PS5except maybe from some weird territories like Russia (Atomic Heart). It's nuts.
I've wondered this too. I went to college late (2006-2008, I was 28-30 years old) , took comp sci classes -java, c++, pc technical, networking and a few electives for game design. Never once did I see anyone like this. All the men and women were normal looking, a few nerdy but nothing like we see nowadays. My game design instructor was a woman in her early 40s who loved god of war (this was Jaffe gow1 and barlog gow2 era). Most of the class of people were younger than me, and all were all into Xbox360 and halo, as well as wow, while I was the only one there into PC and PlayStation (it was the 360 era and ps3 had just launched at $599) so that did make sense.Where do all these people even come from? They've gone from saying it isn't happening, to saying it's happening and it's a good thing, back to hiding and denying it once they're called out for it. They act so proud of putting this poison in games, but if you so much as ask about it you're banned.I'm done
No more new games for me.

Kneel peasants or else!
The degradation of professional attitudes isn't restricted to gaming, btw. I've seen it happen during my own career. Just little things like how people dress at work and at events. Everything is too casual for my liking.I've wondered this too. Seems so strange now thinking back, none of them were in the cult as the cult didn't exist back then. They all seemed like normal men and women.
If you look at dev documentaries, say making of Uncharted, or making of god of war 3 from back in the same era, they all look and act professional. Yet a decade later the same people who were acting professional are boo hoo whining and crying on social media about orange man and spouting all sorts of insane feminist/intersectional propaganda. Then pushing it into the games. Either they were keeping quiet back in the 2000s or they were just indoctrinated by social media to change stances on everything. I am talking promement people in those studios, and directors. So its no wonder that the college kids coming out now are mostly cultists, look at many of the old guard in some of companys, some really seem out of touch with reality.
Many Eastern European devs (Warhorse, GSC game worlds, 4a games), and most Japanese devs still act professional and not trying to push "a message". Outside of a few indy devs, western studios are all bowing down to ESG investments, all the capital is owned by a handful of companies, it's insane.
Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. We'll sweet baby, yes, but not the casual dress baby. You know what I mean, I like dressing casual - ties fucking suck. The degradation of professional attitudes isn't restricted to gaming, btw. I've seen it happen during my own career. Just little things like how people dress at work and at events. Everything is too casual for my liking.
Dyed hair + nose ring = mentally deranged 100% of the time.So interestingly there deleting stuff from there website like prior interviews about writing the narrative.
I remember these existing so went looking, so anyway for example
Homeworld 3 – Q&A with Managing Director of Narrative Properties Lin Joyce - Homeworld Universe
Since its inception in 1999, the Homeworld series’ hallmark has been its rich narrative, full of iconic moments across multiple titles that have stuckweb.archive.org
This interview was removed with Lin Joyce as seen here
So why remove it? Nothing really stands out, what has she worked on prior?
Oh.... Oooooooooooh, jesus christ. Lead writer for new tales from the borderlands... oh god, I mean I think we have found our issue.
Also someone brought up prior, why do all these people have the same type of hair colour that screams for attention...
Yep...
The funniest thing is she's 4/4 for games now where prior well received existing franchises have suddenly had her on staff and had writing criticised as awful compared to prior entries (I mean technically the base Borderlands 3 was ragged on without her, she only worked on one of its terrible equally criticised DLC's but they where looking for bad writers at that point).
So these types only fall upwards, so Naturally she will be director for something like Ghost of Tsushima 2 with a history like this.
