How much money do you think you spend on DLC the generation?

This generation? Damn. Well there was H3, MW2, BC2, GoW3, Reach, BL2, Halo 4...

EDIT: Not to mention all of the singeplayer DLC. RDR, ME2, Skyrim, ME3...

...probably over $200.

What have I done.

I may have spent as much as $100 on Rock Band. Then Borderlands and Borderlands 2 DLC and a few other items here and there...probably between $150 and $200 total.

No wonder publishers keep pushing micro transactions down our throats.

Oh, get over yourself.

If we are counting games, probably in the 2000 dollar range ( I have something like 70 XBLA games and 80 PSN games). If we are talking about Avatars and Themes and stuff, thats maybe 20 bucks- spent mostly in 2006 when I first got an Xbox. As far as actual DLC goes, I bought all the ME2 stuff and season passes for the last 2 wrestling games, but otherwise I have avoided it.

18,50 Euro's.

Not bad.

$20, spent them on Burnout Paradise to show some support for all the awesome free content they put into the game late after launch, and for free. Criterion really got DLC right with that game.

Below $200 from games like DA:O, ME2, GTA IV, RDR, BS2, Skyrim, New Vegas, and FO3.

I can never understand why some people are fully against every DLC. There are some really good DLC that have added 3-10 hours of new content.

Renegade Ops Coldstrike Campaign
Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues DLC
Fallout New Vegas Honest Hearts DLC
Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money
Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road DLC

Purchased at 75% off. Fallout 3's I got via the GOTY edition. At 50% off.
$50 on all of Fallout 3's DLC. The worst mistake I have ever made.
Gee you could've bought one and then decided you didn't like the others...

Not on PC they didn't.

Probably over $200. Actually wouldn't be surprised if it's $300+. Once you add up all the Oblivion DLC, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, ME2, both GTA 4 expansions you probably have well over $100 and then I'd have to add all the other miscellaneous game DLC I bought.

Now that I remember I probably spent several hundred on Rock Band DLC alone back in the RB2 days. I had over 200 DLC songs.

Counting actual DLC I think it was only The Shadow Broker for Mass Effect 2 and Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption. I think this adds up to about 25€ or something. Well worth, two very cool add ons.
I also bought a few games from XBLA and Steam. But that's not DLC.

So I have 322 Rock Band DLC and another 66 Rock Band Network DLC. Let's say I payed the full price of $2 for 200 of those (because of free stuff and discounts when buying a pack) and 1$ for all the RBN song.

That totals to about $460. And then I have some DLC for Guitar Hero 2 and 3, so that's maybe another $40 or something.

Then we have some map packs for a couple of games. So maybe another $50 or something.

So $5-600 for that stuff. Then I also have a bunch of Live Arcade games that probably adds up to $200.

All in all, I've spent a lot of money on stuff I like and I don't get some people who don't buy DLC just because it's DLC. If it extends the life of the product you enjoy, why not pay for some more content?

I think I spent at the mos $40 on DLC. The only thing that brought me over the top were those darn season passes for Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3. After that i mostly got little things like $5 DLC for DC Universe Online, and those $1 avatars.

I hate DLC so I barely if ever purchase them. The only DLC I ever see that's worthwhile is the Disgaea DLC.

if I count all my transactions through online store for digital content including games, subscription, etc... :
steam 400€
other pc games ~120€
psn 1640€
xbla ~100€
eshop ~30€

if we count only add ons, it's harder to say, probably around 200~250€

~260 Rock Band, ~30 Guitar Hero, 22 Theatrhythm, 140 Singstar songs.

Other than those I also bought that Undead Nightmare for RDR.

On games? I have 150+ XBLA games, 50+ PSN games and 10 WiiWare titles so at a very rough estimate I've spent ~£1000+

On DLC? I think I've spent maybe £50 and the majority of that was for the two GTAIV episodes and a couple of Skyrim downloads on the 360.

for additional dlc contents like skins and shit, $0.77, I bought the wrong dlc when steam had that sleeping dogs pricing error :(

For games I bought god hand, and peace walker, I think it added up to around $25.

So $25.77 this generation (not counting the games I bought on steam).

I bought Iron Maiden Pack for Rock Band, Wipeout HD, Flower, Pixel Junk Eden... And that's probably all I managed to buy before my PS3 died. If you count it, I got PoP 2008 Ending DLC for free with my boxed copy.

Proud you missed out on good content?

Iv spent about between £200-300 on DLC i think.

Perfectly fine with that because iv enjoyed everything I bought

I agree. If it enhances your experience and you enjoy it, its totally fine. I didn't mean that ignoring DLC all together is a good thing since there is a lot of great DLC, but I guess being primarily a Nintendo gamer has conditioned me to believe that I want to purchase a game knowing full well I'm getting the full, unbridled game without needing to spend extra on top. There is a such thing as good DLC tho, I would definitely pay extra for new NSMBU stages etc! I'm probably just biased tho. More power to you if you like DLC!

Not much, most of the DLC I have bought was 1-2. Euros or less. Primarily content, but also soundtracks and costumes. And two TF2 keys.

As far as I know:
Magicka, the new mission/campaigns, couple of maps and couple of costumes
Killing Floor, customes
Frozen Synapse, soundtrack and the Red expansion
Dungeons of Dredmor, both expansions
Binding of Isaac, soundtrack and expansion

And I dont regret getting them, expect for the keys.

Probably like $500-$700 including Steam and Xbox 360(downloadable games, etc.) together. Possibly less/more.

Never bought a theme or pic pack. I am guilty of getting a couple avatar items here and there though.

*NOTE: THIS INCLUDES ANY DOWNLOADABLE THING I'VE BOUGHT THIS GEN.

The only time i ever get DLC is if it's on GOTY or Platinum Hits etc. so if you include that as buying DLC which i don't then i suppose i spent quite a bit.

Interesting reading how many people here don't buy lots of DLC. I would have thought it would have been the other way given how much stuff they release...all the time.

I personally don't mind it if its an expansion such as GTAIV but day 1 DLC costumes and the like (which IMO should be part of the game as it was before this gen) are the worst. Overall probably around 40 quid for me this gen.

I spent a lot on Rock Band. Not exactly sure how much, but I'm at around 1,400 songs now. Other than that series, I haven't really bought all that much DLC I guess. The content in the main game is usually enough for me before I'm on to the next game.

Pretty close to $0.

The only time I ever recall buying DLC was when the Fallout NV expansions were 75% off, since those were pretty substantial.

Probably over $200, but almost all of it was bought on sale.

All Halo 3/Reach/4 map packs
A couple CoD MW2 map packs
Gears 3 Season Pass
RDR Undead Nightmare
GTA IV both DLCs
Mass Effect 2&3 DLC
WAlking Dead episodes
SSFIV costume pack
some other stuff I've forgot.

Don't regret any of it one bit. :)
