I have an order on Amazon for the 32GB @ $149. I'm just being impatient.

There were 2 weeks of over 200+ lines at every Apple Store in New York City.Xyrmellon said:I'm not trying to troll, but was there really this hysteria for ipads? I know people waited outside and all, but was it like this? And don't get me wrong, I realize after this weekend everything will be back to normal again.
That said, I don't know why, but I find this all very entertaining. Peoples' success and failure stories and the thrill of the chase. I have this thread and the corresponding CAG thread up and keep reading.
WTF are they doing.dallow_bg said:Amazon finally put their 16gb stock back online.... at full price.
FFS, it's 3am and I want to sleep. Just as I'm ready to give up for good Amazon starts teasing me...dallow_bg said:Amazon finally put their 16gb stock back online.... at full price.
There were lines forming as early as 5 am at the apple stores for well over a month.Xyrmellon said:I'm not trying to troll, but was there really this hysteria for ipads? Honeycomb never went AOSP though. I thought the NC port was based off some pre-release app development build.Lyphen said:Android development starting. If you have one and would like to help out, IRC: irc.andirc.net #touchdroid

Nook Color is 2.3.5 with tablet tweaks that add softbuttons to the notification bar, like Honeycomb.Yoshiya said:Honeycomb never went AOSP though. I thought the NC port was based off some pre-release app development build.

It's EXTREME COUPONING damnit!Gary Whitta said:I love how nobody wants a TouchPad for $400 but those same people will buy four of them for $100 each.
I got my iPad 1 on launch day at a Best Buy. They were sold everywhere (Best Buy, Target, etc.) for iPad 2--there were websites set up for people to check Target stock. You're just trolling now under the guise of ignorance.Xyrmellon said:I don't know cause I don't have an Apple product...well, an old ipad. Also, weren't they were only sold at Apple stores at launch? We are years before someone delivers a dual-core, 1gb ram, IPS tablet for $100. The materials cost for this device was more than the iPad 2.OuterWorldVoice said:I think the lesson is that the theory there is only a market for ipads, versus a tablet market thats real, has been blown out of the water.
Now the gulf between demand for a good, solid tablet at $100 and the ability to deliver that is still pretty huge, obviously, but thats the parameters for the race now. retina display and faster tech may be the wrong direction for the main thrust of this market.
