Well, too bad for them really
Games made me nauseous without VR.Left 4 Dead 3?
Too bad for Vive actually.
If 90% of your target consumers can't take advantage of one of your product stronger points you have a problem.

Stars of Barathrum may live to see the light of day! Actually what happened to that? EVE Valkyrie looks pretty awesome but that's a Rift exclusive right?
Lets just cut this off at the pass
It is almost definitely not HL3
Sorry to burst everyone's bubbles
First person shooters are horrible in VR, they will make people sick. That's why Epic's Bullet Train Oculus demo is all about standing still and shooting, and then teleporting somewhere else to stand and shoot. Anytime a VR game has a player turn when the player's actual body does not turn, that makes people sick. Some people more than others, of course, and for some people it can take a while to be affected. Note that when in a cockpit, the rule changes - a point of reference like a cockpit really helps, which is why there are going to be a lot of space sims and racing games in VR.
My point is, it would be a bad idea to introduce a VR device with a game that will make the majority of its players sick. And I'm sure Valve knows that, since their big selling point is the room-scale walking around normally.
I just hope I'm not asleep or incapacitated when the pre-order goes up.
That's the type of VR Valve have been extremely critical of though.RIGS: Mechanized Combat league is in first person, and people who have tried it, says you get an initial simulation sickness and it then subsides as your body get acclimated to the experience.

A 'half-VR' game is going to be the killer app for VR? Not a chance. It's Half Life 3 and/or Portal 3
And for those of you who haven't tried VR (and likely hate it because you haven't tried it) there will be non-VR flavors of both games. Hence "HL3 is not a VR game". Cause it's half-VR.
This move will kill any momentum Oculus has.
Left 4 Dead 3?
What's going on with Oculus? Their lead on the market is pretty much gone at this point.

and it's goneA limited number of Vives will go out next month,
If they're not going international for the first batch then that is really, really disappointingwith a wide release to take place before March 2016.
Frankly, I still think they've got the edge thanks to Facebook's backing. It's a source of capital that dwarfs HTC, and that means they've got a quicker path into retail. They're also likely miles ahead in mainstream applications. Additionally, the Touch controllers already make the sticks used by HTC & Sony feel archaic. What's going on with Oculus? Probably given the slower nature of the game mixed with the VR wow factor. However I can see motion sickness being a factor with all the drops and launches.

I suspect the Vive will be the headset of choice for gamers, though. If Valve is serious about this and starts pressuring for exclusivity - they can corner that userbase immediately.

Link? There've been leaked images of L4D areas remade in Source 2 - I wouldn't be surprised if we saw either L4D3 or a remake of 1 and/or 2.
Portal? Half-Life? SP FPS, we off that
Valve allegedly has one too called cutlass.Additionally, the Touch controllers already make the sticks used by HTC & Sony feel archaic.

...so you're saying there's a chance?
- Screencap this post, I'm pretty this will happen -
When HL2 launched it made an impact on the gaming world for the fresh shooting mecanics, great graphics and interesting storytelling in 2004, 11 years later almost everything has been said and done in shooters BUT they can make HL3 to have the same impact as HL2 making the best VR FPS ever with controls adjusted to VR environment, perfect graphics and atmosphere making it a perfect boom to the gaming world and surpass the already high expectations for the game.
It won't be for launch though, but this will happen!
