i hate this generation

the worst thing about this gen are the fanboys, the arguements about which console is best, the bashing, and the separation of gamers. not faulty hardware. though that is a nuisance.

It was great when none of these things happened in the previous generation.

The real problem with this generation is that even though there are three competitors the prices aren't reflecting that. Sony basically upgraded storage at each price point (and threw in Motorstorm on the high end), Microsoft cut $50 from the non-tard SKU after 21 months, and it will be a long time before Nintendo has to change anything.

At this point in the previous cycle you could have bought all three systems for $550 and had better games available.

I beg to differ..

The worst thing about this gen is that the console with the best software lineup to date has an alarming failure rate and the one with the best build and reliability, not to mention great extra features such as built-in high def movie playback has a poor software lineup.

Add all of this to the fact that the best selling console this gen is fundamentally a repackaged Gamecube with a waggle wand, and we have this current game console generation.

I think that , basically, if you have cash this gen has been great - if you have the wonga, you`ll have all three consoles so whilst PS3 stuff is a while away and the true AAA Wii games aren`t here yet, then you could have been playing X360/Ps2/DS/PSP whilst dipping your toe into the good/very good PS3 and Wii stuff.

Having to pick one console this gen is going to be painful.

Poor software lineup? I thought we were past that already, PS3's lineup is great.
