I think Haze will actually fill a much-needed void on PS3

hey, high five for blanket statements!

never mind the fact i've seen every video, read almost every preview and come to my conclusion based on cold hard facts, lets just call me ignorant and act like a dumbass for a game you get hard for!

Blanket statements? You said it was generic, I argue that it most certainly isn't, and you come back with "it's about as exciting as bread" as if excitement level is actually indicative of how generic something is or isn't. You use the term "generic" because you either can't or are too lazy to come up with anything more substantial. How generic of you.

I will say this, I am not a fan of the live action they've used to promote this.

I hope there's none of that in the actual game.

Dunno. It's gonna be tough getting that stubborn Resistance crowd to play anything else. It's PS3's Halo as far as devout online community following goes.

There won't be. Somewhat ironically, "Sizzlewood" there actually went on a rant against how Black featured live action sequences, so I think it's safe to say it won't be in the game. No cutscenes and no loading between "levels".

I don't know what those two have in terms of co-op, but Haze has 4-player online co-op through the actual campaign. I don't think any other game on the PS3 can claim that.

I didn't know that,nice!

Yup, same here...I thought the live action clips were really stupid.
I just hope that they deliver on the story and nail the "feel" of the guns. Those thing are a must imo. I have faith in FR.

haze looks like a boring run-around-shooting-people game with a completely uninteresting story and some bullshit nectar crap tossed on to make it look like something new and unique when really it's just another shooter not worth getting excited for. oh and the graphics are bad too.

but go on, continue calling me ignorant just because i'm spitting on a game you seem to cherish in your heart for some reason.

Yup, that's another key thing the game has in its corner.

They've gone out of their way to make it very clear that the game features the same seamless presentation that Uncharted does, no loading anytime, anywhere. Just constant streaming of data to provide a 100% uninterrupted gaming experience.

If that's generic, then count me in.

4 guys, from the comfort of their own living rooms, playing through an action game with no loading whatsoever.

Sounds pretty fun to me.

Much-needed void? What, mediocre FPS? I thought Resistance already had that sewn up.

Gawd, there's so much stupid in this thread, it's incredible.

Count me in on not being sold on Haze right now. Should be interesting to see how it fares review wise. :D

4 player online co-op and assuredly awesome multiplayer (FR's track record) says yes, you're still ignorant.

The timesplitters games were far from "great", no reason to believe this will be any better
Timesplitters 2 was the best IMO from a single player standpoint.

The map editor alone was worth the price of admission though to the original though, my wife and I had a ton of fun with that mode. She'd make the maps, and I'd play em. She'd try to come up with stuff to challenge me, god that was a fun game.

Bullshit Warhawk and COD4 (which is brand new) have a bunch of people playing online every single time I've logged on.

Except when COD4 does that "downloading game settings" thing but that doesn't mean people aren't trying to play. I even heard that the PS3 online of COD4 was f-ing up because Infinity Ward didn't except that many people to be playing it online in the first place.

FR deserves a lot of credit for pulling off the online co-op through the campaign (assuming it works well). There are not a lot of games that feature co-op through the main game. It seems like a lot of shooters skip it all together (COD4, HL2) or have seperate modes for co-op play (GRAW, upcoming Turok title). I can only think of a couple that pulled off online co-op through the main game this gen, and only one other shooter to do four player.

And yet more crap that does nothing to support your initial lazy ass "generic" comment. Well, I guess you did mention the "bullshit nectar crap tossed in to make it look like something new and unique", only you yet again proudly flaunt your ignorance by writing it off as inconsequential. Whether you like the style of the game or not, the Mantel vs Promise Hand gameplay mechanics and balance between the two make it a shooter different from most. But hey, if you can just ignore that some more, maybe you can make it fit into the categorization as generic. Do you have that much ignorance in you?

I was about to start yelling about NO VOID, but yeah its really time for some Online co-op. If I like the demo, then its on. If I don't like the demo, its likely on anyway. The GAF on line co-op games should be interesting.

HAZE is in the "wait and see" category for me. I've seen good and meh in equal measure thus far so I'm not getting hyped, not counting the days, and not buying first day.

As mentioned already COD4 is THE hot FPS for the PS3. It will serve for a good long while if there is nothing else.

As a pure SP or adversary MP experience, yeah. But Haze features a multiplayer opportunity in the actual SP, which is a pretty big deal. Assuming of course that the SP is any good and that the enemy A.I. can put up a decent fight.

Most of the people on my ps3 list (mostly gaffers) really don't seem to like Cod4, it was my wait and see title, so I have big hopes for Haze. But honestly with me, its all about fun. If I think I'll have any fun playing Haze, then I'm in. My last three pickups have all been review slags and i'm having so much fun with them, so some hands on will help me decide.

Quite honestly it was their E3 Trailer that kill the Haze Hype. It could have been amazing but instead it was one of the cheesiest trailers in the history of game trailers. After that the little hype they did build was destroyed and even AltogetherAndrews stood there in shame.

Can anybody sort the rest of us up with this "moneyhatting" hookup? I really don't get paid enough to advocate games over a message board, TIA.
