I tried a Monster Energy Drink

I drank these in highschool before gym class and felt amazing. I stopped after highschool and I just looked it up and apparently there's a class action lawsuit against them for hospitalizing people with symptoms of cocaine overdose

I used to drink them so much. I was a fan of Full Throtle though but man, after a few years of drinking a few of them every day I started to get really fidgety and started to get a really rapid heart beat when drinking them. Havn't had one in years. Stay away if you can.

Everyone I see drinking an energy drank, I consider them kind of an idiot secretly. I don't act on my horrible opinion though, and look for ways to see that person in a positive light afterwards

Let's not pretend that most "coffee" people drink these days (i.e. anything but pure black) tends to be more expensive and have an equivalent number of calories and/or sugar.

They're pretty bad for you, but so long as you only drink at most one a day, then you should be fine.

And speaking of Monster, I think the last time I ever drank one was when me and my brother were working security for the Budweiser Clydesdales, and the people in charge left a huge cooler of like 30 of them; I had to have dranken like 7 in one night.

Its not real energy. You are wasting your money and becoming more unhealthy the more you consume these "energy" drinks.

Tried the standard Monster one once, tasted fucking terrible, no idea how people can consume that shit. Only ones I've had that I don't think are complete ass are Red Bull and one called Cult Cola

Sometimes I prefer to keep it to energy drinks as you can stretch one out over a few hours while I might have a couple coffees in a few hours which I always end up regretting.

Objectively the best energy drink. Low calorie, non carbonated. It is literally just caffeinated lemonaide.

I got super addicted to these during a convention one weekend and then when I stopped drinking them my head felt like it was going to explode. Pretty tasty though!

Stop drinking energy drinks. They're awful for you and designed for bored people who want a needless addiction to spend money on.
If you drink them as directed you shouldn't have any more problems than if you drank a cup of coffee every few hours.

Most energy drinks have warning or direction on the side that says "don't consume more than one every four hours," or something similar. If you open one and sip it over that period of time, it's just like drinking coffee. It shouldn't raise your blood pressure excessively, you won't become over stimulated, and you shouldn't crash out after 15 minutes. If you drink water with it, you won't become dehydrated.

That said though, I'm just about the only person I know that will open a can and do that. Most people that drink them just open them and then chug them down, and have them on a regular basis. I haven't even had one this year, because I only drink them when I actually need a stimulant for something.

Drink them once in a while, Assault and the Doctor of Monster are pretty nice, I also like the Lemon Ice from Burn.

But since I also drink coffee, and got myself a Dolce Gusto capsule coffee machine, I should really just stick with my favourites, Mocha Mocha and Caf'Ă© Au Lait, cheaper too.

Energy drinks some times give me that weird feeling of flicker, like your heart is running in turbo mode.

Welcome to my hell. 3 for 2 at Kangeroos, btw.

Original Monster energy is ok, but for whatever reason their ultra cans are amazing!

Da best.

Yep! I actually mix these with orange juice and they're super fucking awesome. The red just isn't as good, but the white is also fantastic.

I only drink Rockstar Sour Apple, it's the only one that doesn't taste like soap suds.

In Thailand I usually overdose on M-150 though, clerk girl at a 711 near my hotel must have been watching me all day coz after the 3rd I'd bought she told me i would die if I had more.
:(

Never tried never will, they absoloutely stink and I associate them with fat people given that's all I see drink them, that and delinquents.

Anecdotal, but the only people I've ever personally known who drink monster regularly are thin as fuck. That includes me (I weigh 65kg).

I only ever drink the sugar free one though.

My first energy drink triggered my first anxiety attack as well...that led to a string of other anxiety attacks down the line.

Needless to say, I despise these things with all my life.

What have I done...

I was never into energy drinks previously. Even during college I mostly drank coffee to stay up or write papers last minute (which started my coffee addiction). I recently got a job which had these Monster energy drinks available in a cooler at the office free for the taking. Even then I never had one, but I kept hearing a few coworkers just rave about them. So one day we had a pretty long meeting lined up and I was just not in the mood so I finally said fuck it and popped open a green Monster.

It's fucking delicious. I love sweet things, so this was right up my alley. The carbonation just bounced off my tongue like a flavor firecracker. And then it happened. THE BUZZ. I was officially high on caffeine and taurine. My entire body had this actual buzz about it and I felt like I could play CS:GO competitively with ease even though I never played the game in my life.

Suffice to say I now can't go a day without having one. I've tried all their flavors since then. I still love the original green the best, but some of my other faves include Ultra Zero, Ultra Blue, and Khaos. Now the only problem is if I don't have one, I end up getting a headache and feel like shit. But I could quit at any time if I wanted to. I swear...

This basically sums it up for me:

Enjoy your diabeetus.

Love Monster, but only drink it when I really need it.

Last time was trying to stay up for a 24 hour drive up the east coast two years ago.

This is a good point, however there are people that geniunely need the extra energy. I used to drink RedBull 24/7 when I worked night shift.

I never even tried an energy drink before until my baby girl was born. Going to work with an extreme lack of sleep wasn't working for me, and since I can't stand the taste of coffee, I started drinking energy drinks.

I've cut back severely since then (6 months ago). Went from one a day to one a week.

I know they're bad for you, but not everyone likes coffee.

Black coffee tastes like booty. Throw some italian sweet creme' creamer in there with about 5 spoons of sugar and you've got yourself some heaven-in-a-cup.
